If not ambitious, at least optimistic. Seem to be a lot of interesting bikes showing up down South. Don

@leftthread What is the purpose of the skipped tooth freewheel? Does it aid in shifting? Never seen that before. Way cool.

Serotta Colorado II red to yellow fade. Orange in the transition area. Sorry, as close as I can come in my current stable. I did own the Centurion Super LeMans at one time.

Schwinn called the color of my 1966 Super Sport "Coppertone". It was a standard color also used on the heavier, Varsity and Continental models also. I did a rattle can re-paint of mine with Rustoleum Copper which was a close, but not perfect match. I saved the decals by masking them off.
All SS models had chrome moly frame tubing and round head badges. Varsity/Continental models had oval head badges. Early SS models, like mine, also had forged rear dropouts with axle adjusting screws, down tube shifters and a bolt on(removeable) kickstand. The later years had stem shifters, stamped drop outs and welded on kickstands.
My date is from the serial number. 1952-1969 # was stamped on non-drive side rear drop-out. You see why I repainted? Only good paint was in the decal area, which I preserved. In 1970, the # moved to head tube (my 1971 SS # is located lower left of the head badge). Be aware, these stamped parts were sometimes made into a frame a year or more later and 64-69 Super Sports/Superiors used a different dating system.
