Nylon webbing as bar tape?
Has anyone ever tried nylon webbing as bar tape? I found a company that offers some really cool patterns in 1” webbing otherwise not found in bar tape and is super cheap comparatively. I’m not crazy about gel or cork tape and I usually wear gloves anyways. Alternatively, I would have bought either cloth tape or leather, so I’m guessing I wouldn’t be giving up much in cushion compared to those options.
This may just be silly. I’m all ears.

Have you tried Fizik Classic microfiber 2mm? It looks like brand new leather tape, but it feels a lot better, especially after several months of use.

Nylon webbing comes in various thicknesses, 1mm up so a little unclear, it help to wrap if it stretches a little. I don't see why it would not work depending on the wrap, probably absorb sweat and dirt and get funky which can be a problem. My leather does not do that and a coatings of shellac takes care of that with cloth, giving long life and keeping sweat off of aluminum bars which can be a serious problem.

Concur with dedhed above. It’s your bike. If it works for you…bonus! I’ve made my own bar tape out of fabric before…sometimes with patterns/colors to match the frame. Worked out fine for me.

Doesn't look too promising. It would need a lot of glue to stay in position, and doesn't stretch enough to fit the curves well.
This is tubular webbing, solid webbing didn't really work at all.

You'll forgive me if I don't applaud the aesthetic of this ^ handlebar treatment. It makes me sad.
