TA nuts & bolts question

I have a stronglight 49d crank that I would like to run TA cyclotourist rings. I have the rings. I need new mounting hardware (nuts, bolts, washers) though. The easiest solution is to get the hardware from velo orange but they are now out of stock:

https://velo-orange.com/collections/...0-4-bcd-cranks

I signed up for an email once they are back in stock. If I get impatient and I want to buy TA mounting hardware, I think, based on this reference chart, that the right parts no. is ref. 25, right?

Specialites T.A. - pro 5 vis chainwheels

The third solution would be to put up a WTB in the C&V for sale forum.

Any other sources for scrounging up the right harware? Is reference no. 25 what I need if I look for TA hardware?

I THINK I might be able to help. Got carried away last winter on my projects, and when five bikes turned into only two completed, got a lot of stuff packed away for NEXT winter. Including, if what I am looking at in this little poly bag, an extra set of bolts ordered from Velo Orange. I need to count all this out, ensure the correct # of nuts/bolts/spacers are here, and carefully compare to the photo on VO's site. if everything matches, considering VO will likely be back in stock long before my need becomes critical, they're yours. I presume you are going to run two chainrings?

When you do get them, a good thing to do is to grind appropriate-sized sockets flat on the open end - the flats on those screws are thin and very easy to round, especially with a chamfered socket.

Yes, two chainring and that would be cool. It's for my 1958 Claud Butler resto-mod

That's a clever idea, OEM bolts do have a thin head. Of course, not required on VO bolts, being Allen-key

Sure looks like I have everything here (I sometimes get stuff from VO in unmarked bags, and I take them out to look at them, and for storage tend to use cheap kitchen zip-locking bags for storage. Six bolts/nuts with spacers, and a small bag with five nuts/bolts, no spacers. Both of my projects are/were to be single chainring, then thought it would be cool to include the six bolts just for looks, but it's huge amount of grinding down everything to get it to tighten up on just one chainring.... so no.

PM me shipping info. My only problem is HATING to go to the post office, and especially twice if the first time is to get a padded mailing bag. C'est la vie!

Ref.25 is the set of 5 for bolting the outer ring to the crank. Ref.64 is the set of 6 with spacers for bolting the inner ring to the outer ring. See p.11 here: https://www.os2.dhs.org/~john/catalogs/ta.pdf
Ebay seller dennishchico sells Ref.25 sets, but not Ref.64. He does sell Ref.62 sets, which I believe are the same as Ref.64 but without the spacers. They are for use with the Professional chainring adapter ref.175, which provides the spacing. (see p.13 in the TA document)

I seem to recall folks reporting that the VO nuts are too long for the stepped holes in the 49D crank. A fairly common remedy is to drill out the steps, making the holes like the ones in TA cranks. An alternative would be to grind the nuts shorter. VO may have fixed this problem by now.

I wonder if the hardware off this orphan arm I have would work?

I'm running VO's on Stronglight 49's right now; bolted right up.

OP found his own solution and did not need my spare bolts.

That was my experience, ages ago (maybe 2013?) Hopefully VO has fixed the issue by now.

I chose to source TA bolts rather than take a drill to my 49D. They fit perfectly.
