Help identifying a vintage Peugeot
Hello,
I recently picked up an old Peugeot ('72?), but I'm having a devil of a time identifying the year and model. I'm trying to decide if I should restore it or sell it. I just don't know the value as it stands. I'll submit some pics, but since I'm new to the forum I need to get up to 10 posts. So, I'll be sending 9 more

Good luck. Looks like you'll have to wait until tomorrow to post your other 5.

The "2" at the beginning of the 29524 coupled with the "72" stamped on the rim leads me to think it's a '72, but which model?!

Here's post #10! I can't upload photos until I've posted 10 times, and I'm assuming I'll have to wait 24 hours after this post to do so. Either way, any help identifying this model would be greatly appreciated. Aside from some rust, the bike seems to be in pretty good condition. I'm going to clean it up ... I just don't know if I should replace certain parts with new/modern ones or if I should try to track down older/original parts. Is it worth that kind of investment? Thanks in advance for any advice!

...it's not a PX-10, because mostly they had chrome sox fore and aft (on the stays), and the tubing sticker would be a French Reynolds 531 sticker. Otherwise, there wer a lot of models in 1972. The Rigida Chromlux wheel rims speak toward a lower end Peugeot. Of which there were many sold here in the United States. Some people still like them as a platform for upgrading with lighter wheels and more reliable shifting components.

UO-8. Most popular bike boom bike out there. Nice bikes too. Give it a spit and a polish... see how she rides.

I would agree it is most likely UO series there were several models in the UO series and as said they were they most popular and most produced bikes of all time. Nice basic bikes that make good riders but not worth a lot $150-200 in good ready to ride condition.

Thank you everyone for your feedback! I really appreciate it. Not quite the amazing find I was hoping for, but it should be a fun project getting it cleaned up and ready to ride again.
