Campagnolo Sport Extra RD
If anyone is completing a bike that could use this, as opposed to simply selling it on eBay, free to a good home including shipping to a the lower 48. No idea why I bought this in the 1970's, never been on a bike to my knowledge. Odd design that looks like a Valentino except (a) the upper pivot is sprung, and the lower pivot, uh, there ain't no lower pivot. And only one pulley. I dunno, late 1950's? A wild guess but if someone needs this, they are not common or at least this is the only one I've ever seen.
Here's a photo, I think it looks better in person than my poor photography, the cage looks shiny and not dark as in the photo.

If this is from the late 50s, I'd think about using it on a 1958 Claud Butler Jubilee I am rebuilding but I think this may be later.
Edit, looks like 1968. https://www.disraeligears.co.uk/site...erailleur.html
The description from disraeli gears is funny:
"If Campagnolo had an embarrassing secret vice, it was its love for single pulley derailleurs. This despicable dalliance started with the 1952 Campagnolo Sport. It was still raging, unabated, certainly as late as 1968, when this model, the Campagnolo Sport Extra, was featured in the catalogue. . . .
These derailleurs pandered to an ancient fear amongst some cyclists that the extra friction of a second pulley wheel would hold them back. Everything that makes a good derailleur was sacrificed in order to avoid this dastardly friction.
In terms of gear changing (surely an important aspect of a derailleur) these models were about as much use as a chocolate fireguard."

So it sounds like, I presume, this would not fit your needs.

I wonder if it could be used as some decoy for a fixie and get the chain tensioned!

Does this rear-derailleur-shaped object have an end of a spring sticking out of the RD and into the mounting plate? Some Campy rear drop outs had a little hole just above where the RD screwed in for the spring to go into - both of my mid-1960s Cinellis have that little hole. The disappearance of that little hole later in the 1960s is one of the things that, according to the Vintage Velos Cinelli timeline, helps date Cinelli frames. (God knows the serial numbers are useless for that purpose.)
And no, thank you, as much fun as it might be to have such a curio, there is no way I would actually mount the thing. Hey, I ride my bikes. Slowly, and not very far, but I ride them.

Still waiting to locate a box to send this along to its new owner.
Yes, there is such a locating hole in the "claw", as you describe, for the end of the tension spring. Compared to the mounting bolt of the rest of the derailleur to the "claw", in roughly the 12-o'clock position.
