This Classic 14 speed Cannondale was owned by an old friend, a serious biker who used to ride hundreds of miles weekly on it along the lakefront. It's approximately 25 years old and that was the last time it was ridden. It does need to be tuned up. I haven't seen many like this still around. Pick up or I could deliver in the Chicagoland area. Cash only. $225. https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/bik/4825682665.html

Looking closer at the Cannondale RD, looks like a hose clamp may be holding it on the bike. If it is a Campagnolo hose clamp, could add value, otherwise...... lol

^^^ THAT's what looked so weird about the RD. Good eye! I don't know, you don't see a SunTour RD hose clamp every day either, especially 7s.

Can someone explain to me what's going on with the rear wheel? Is the disk made out of paper mache?

If any bike needs a repaint and new decals, it's this one.

It looked cool hanging on a wall? That`s the best explanation I can think of.

The Suntour hose clamp is built stronger and will outlast a Campagnolo hose clamp, but the Campagnolo hose clamp looks so pretty.

Trek 2500 Carbon Fiber Mid 80's Trek 2500 with carbon tubes and aluminum lugs; have no idea what condition it's in. I almost bought one of these before I decided to get the Trek 660 but I chickened out since CF was a new thing back then. Later found out some of them had bonding issues.

It looks like both halves of the aero disk are on one side. The only the "swoosh" shows on outside of the drive side, but you can see "UNI" showing through the back from the non-drive side. Weird.

Oh, and repainting and replacing the graphics would be the last thing I would do to that bike (said the child of the 80s). Loud and proud, baby! Looks like a Black Lightning before there were Black Lightnings. If the Suntour group is decent and the price went to $200 or lower, then you've got a deal. Heck, it's not even my size, but I'd buy it as 80s art.

There lf of a Uni disc cover on the rear wheel. It is wire hoop with a cloth stretched over it then held to the spokes by a set of plastic clips. If you look close you can see the Uni disc logo and where the cloth is drawn up on the inside. The right side cover sems to be missing. OH this cover was repainted

That is a rather interesting RD I wonder if the seller will send one of us some better pics. The paint doesn't look standard to me I wonder if this was some special sponsorship model. Those wheels don't look like they have hundreds of miles on them.

Almost looks like one of Dario Pegoretti's tamer paint jobs.

I still don't see the "hose clamp", but it is one strange looking RD. Is there an issue with the der. hanger? I'm not seeing it...

If you open up the link there are more pictures. Blow up the one for the RD and you will see it. Where the bolt attaches to the hanger, it is covered by the hose clamp. Might be able to fix it with a Hellicoil?

I see that these Motobecane Jubiles get some love, and this one looks good, claimed to be mostly original, good new rubber and seems priced right (asking $135).

I'm pretty sure that's the limited edition Suntour Black Lightning Hose clamp and Extra Large Washer assembly that appeared for only one half of one year, and only on black C-dales. Extremely rare and collectible.

I just don't understand why people think leaning an overpriced bike against a trash can will lead to a successful sale.

People fascinate me.
