Question about Front Delarieur E-type triple

Hello
I wanted to ask about something I have the possibility to buy a triple front derailleur, E-type.
The specifications are: 46/34/24
I wanted to know this: ¿Can I use it as a double front derailleur with a 46/30 crankset, or is it possible to only use the triple configuration?
Thanks in advance

Not well. Triple FD's have a specially shaped cage for the two shifts and the upper shift is usually optimized for the teeth difference between the middle and top rings

Shimano tech docs still show a bunch of e-type FD's available and most of them are doubles.
