seedsbelize2 was it you who said hanging from a bar can help one's back? If so, how long? Is ten seconds long enough?
For me it has straightened my hunched cyclist's posture a bit, and has also allowed the discs in my to decompress while I hang. Sometimes my back pops slightly. Shoulders feel great. All the benefits you get from those Teeter machines that turn you upside down, I think you you can also get from hanging. Plus strengthening of tendons and muscles in the shoulders, back, and surprisingly, the abs. I'm actually developing an ever so slight six pack from doing this, and definitely standing up much straighter.
I do 20 seconds, up to a minute, whatever is tolerable to my hands. I used to let my feet lightly touch the floor (I use a doorway pull up bar) but now I as I have gained strength, I now bend my knees and hold them in front of me for a few seconds, and keep them off the ground completely while I'm hanging. It takes a few weeks or months to build up strength, don't rush it.

Pretty sure you can get the same spine benefit with back extension stretches, e.g., the upward dog in yoga. I these in rehab after a crippling lumbar disc herniation and still do when things don’t feel right down there.
Some degree of linear disc “distraction” is possible in the cervical spine and cervical traction is often helpful for disc-related symptoms, but lumbar traction has not shown reliable benefits.

I used to do an hour a day of yoga, and it did my back no favors. I think it's best not to stretch the back too much, for me it caused a lot of dislocation and misalignment, which is exactly what I don't want. I do planks these days instead of stretches, per this study:

Nightmare last night, and 43*. I hope the former is not a portent of anything, and the combination absolutely means fake miles.

No problem with the "back injury," if that's what it is, it's way down at my hip area. I'm not used to doing that so not a lot of strength to hang.

I have found that once I get comfortable hanging, I start to loosen up, and even the lowest parts of the back can decompress. I have a "trick" sacral region on one side, that has two possible positions it can settle into. 1.) compressed, and 2.) decompressed. #2 feels much better, but when I lift something heavy the back often settles into #1 , and will take days or weeks to return to normal without the hanging by the arms stuff.
As always YMMV, just sharing what works for me.

On my way to work, I drove by the polling location for my district at a few minutes after 7AM (polls open at 7) and saw a LONG LINE!
I was surprised as I would have expected most of my neighbors to have voted by mail (which everyone in my family did). Apparently not.

I was slightly surprised by this as well. Drove by my polling place at 6:15, intending to vote before work, and there was a line at least 25 people deep. I shall try again this afternoon. I knew I should have voted early .

Ah, the existential dread of Election Day, 2020 Edition. If I could **** off on a 200k, I surely would.

I told her what I use but I'm a sweathog. Just looking for a jersey to go with the other layers. Since she stays on dirt her speeds aren't real high.

Interesting, I rode by two different polling locations this morning and both were dead. I plan on heading soon, hope that’s still the case. I meant to vote early as well, but kept forgetting.

25 people in line? That's not bad.

Texas early voting has surpassed 2016 total. Anyone who claims to know what that means is lying.
