Help with details on Bike Friday bikes

Hello,

I was recently given a collection of Bike Friday bikes and could use help identifying some specifics on them if possible.
I’m not new to bicycles, but very new to these bikes.

I don’t know if there are sizes or measurements I can take as they all appear to be custom.
Also not sure how to determine their age.

Unfortunately the prior owner is no longer with us to ask.

Any help would be appreciated!

I tried to share some pictures, but I need to hit 10 posts before I can.

I have two New World Tourist bikes and two Tikit bikes.

Please let me know what I can do to help you help me.

Thank you,
Mike

Have you tried sending the serial number to Bike Friday?

I have not, but I also can’t locate the serial numbers. All four have custom name plates though.

Any clues to serial number location?

I just got them today, come Monday I can give them a call or shoot them an email. To be honest I hadn’t even thought to reach out to them directly. That’s a great idea. Thank you.

It may vary from model to model, but on my 2004 Air Friday, there's both a serial number on the front of the underside of the bottom bracket, and a plate attached to the frame behind its vestigial "seat tube" with my name on it. The Bike Friday staff have always been courteous and helpful when I've contacted them. They may be able to ID the bikes just from the previous owner's name (unless the same buyer bought multiple bikes of different models from them).

I didn’t see any serial number under the bottom bracket, but I’ll check again to be safe.
Thanks for the tip!

Adding this if it’s of use to someone in the future:

Per Bike Friday:

For the non-Tikit ones, the frame number is stamped either on the bottom bracket shell (between the cranks) or on the right rear dropout under the rear derailleur.

For the Tikits, the frame number should be stamped on the main hinge where the seat mast assembly locks in, on the drive side.

With this I was able to locate 3/4 serial numbers

The serial # can be filled in a bit with paint, so don't skip using the braille method. Run your finger along the bottom bracket underside. If you feel any deviations, then flip it over and if you cant read it, place a thin piece of paper over it and rub a pencil. That's how I got all but one of the #'s on my very old new-to-me NWT years ago. If you can narrow it down then BF can check their records.

Haha yes, the Braille method. I did give that a go, but no dice.

Two were pretty easy to read, one a little tricky, but the last is still hiding somewhere.

I can almost post pics to share.

Just got a reply from Bike Friday, I couldn’t locate one serial number because I wasn’t looking in quite the right location.

On the New World Tourist if it isn’t located on the bottom bracket it’ll be located on the inside of the frame where the rear axle mounts. He previously had said right rear drop out under the rear derailleur and I thought it would be visible without removing parts.
I just need to pop the rear wheels out and it should become visible.
