Gorgeous bike! Growing up, the bike shops I hung out at did not sell Bianchi. I first remember seeing one in a race and always wanted one back in the day but Miyata was about all I could afford then. I still have my Miyatas and have acquired the Zullo and Pinarello that my favorite shop sold back when I couldn’t afford them. All great bikes but seeing your Bianchi and others like it on this forum has me thinking about making that my next project bike. By the way, I just installed a nice set of gumwall GP 5000 s in 25mm on my 1991 Team Miyata and 1995 Quattro Assi Team Titanium bikes. Excellent riding tires and look great. Your Bianchi would look awesome with a set.

A thread about my 1989 Cinelli with9-speed downtube shifters and no brifters was moved there. Go figure.

It isn't a classic, yet.
But it has been mine since new 17 years ago and the frame fits me perfectly.

All but the fork, crank, and wheels were from the parts bin.
The frame was in brutal shape so I stripped it and painted a 3 color splatter.
It's really fun- quick, jumps forward, comfortable.

Trek 400T Elance
I purchased this a couple of months ago. Wheels and rear derailleur where not orginal. But frame was in pretty good shape. This bike is my attempt to see if I can still ride a roadbike with drop bars. Hence the goofy looking stem. And low gearing. Getting old has required some work arounds. Installed new BB and headset bearings. ROL Volant wheels were purchased on Craigslist this past winter for $140. Without a bike to put them on. So I had to buy this bike. Wheels have some miles on them but bearings turn smooth and rims are straight. Which is more than I can say for myself. Tires are 28mm. The majority of the components I had on hand and are slightly used except the chain, Shimano Deore 592 rear deraileur, and Shimano
12T 36 cassette which is new from my inventory. Sugino crankset is 46-36-26. With the components I have on hand I am pretty much married to the 3 x 9 drivetrain. Which is OK as we get along well enough. FD is Microshift. Brifters are like new Shimano 105 Flight Deck 9 speed. Came off a Burley Tandem Duet my wife and I used to ride. I have only been on a couple of small test drives to sort out the gremlins. Looking forward to getting out for a nice cruise on our mostly quite local rural roads here in my part of Central Maine.

Interesting that this bike is made out of Columbus tubing, I thought all the Japanese-made Schwinns were Tange?

My recently built up Team ADR Bottecchia, with original Mavic starfish crank but fitted with 10 speed rings so bike now runs 10 speed Campagnolo, Chorus shifters and RD, Record brakes and hubs and easily enough clearance for 28c tires give it some modern luxuries but still keep it classic looking.

Completed this about a month ago now, I've put about 250 miles on it now, and it is the nicest riding road bide I've been on (including many carbon frames that I've had on demo). Comfortable, compliant ride, that doesn't feel "flexy" when I'm out of the saddle climbing. Wheelset: DT Swiss P1800, front derailleur, rear derailleur, brakes and crankset (52/36 175mm) are all R7000, shifters/levers and cassette (11-32) are R8000, bottom bracket and chain are R9000, stem and seatpost are Zipp Service Course, Chris King headset and Continental GP 5000 28mm tires. I did the paint job and decal application, color is Candy Deep Red with silver metallic base coat. I could not be happier with the project!
Where did you get the decals? I’m looking for a new source.

@ski4bob that Peloton is gorgeous!!! Love the red and the build--that dark red with the black components and flash of tan of those GP5000s is perfect! I had a 1985 Peloton in its original red, same 25" size. Great bike. Enjoy!

...if you end up wanting to move away from the threadless stem adapter, look into an innicycle headset. It was designed by a forum member and is high quality. 100% equal in actual quality to the CK headset on there now.

Always wanted a Masi, couldn't overcome my "cheapskate" genes until I saw this one: A 1984 Gran Criterium by the serial #, re-painted from white, bent DS dropout, Daytona group and very dirty bar tape resulted in an attractive price. A visit to Gugy fixed the dropout. Didn't like the ergo bars and they were too low for my geriatric back, so I added a Nitto stem with Criterium bar, white tape and saddle. Just a few drive side paint chips, but many on the NDS. Every chip showed white, a few had bare metal. I considered leaving the patina with just a wax, but decided on a touch up. Rustoleum Sunburst Yellow is a perfect match to the Samontanna Yellow repaint.

Just finished a refresh of my 1985 Merckx Team Panasonic. 10 speed Campag Chorus groupset, Koolstop brake pads and 28c tyres with space for 30c if desired. Waxed the painted sections of the frame and lightly polished the chrome and the 38 year old frame buffed up nicely.
