1 inch steerer chrome steel quill stem

Upcoming build

Classic styling, can't do custom, need to keep the $$$ somewhat reasonable.

VO Grand Cru is the main contender at the moment, a bit spendy even with 20% off and don't care for the bell mount, but......

Anyone have nice example to part with?

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

TIA

You need a stem, right?
Size/length?
Clamp size?
Need bars to go with that?

90-110 length
prefer 25.4 but something very nice in 26 would work
22.2
G+ TO VGC
No bars

Might end up being alloy, I have those, this is all about hard chrome bling.

That's why it also needs to be very nice finish and quality wise.

An inexpensive alternative are the steel stems that came on Raleigh Sprites; I have several. They kind of look like Titan stems (which, I suppose are another option if you can find one) but also usually didn't have much reach.

I have a Titan with bars for another project, clean and simple is the goal.

Yep, need one of those too for yet another project, that one is too long and also waaaay out of budget.

The other one is too short at 90mm and also waay out of budget.

Found the Sprite stem on Efbay with bars, it would maybe work but not quite the level of panache this will need. If I could get my eyeball on one, I could evaluate better and will keep my eye out for one.

Doh!, skipped right over the "I have several" part. Can you part with one of the longer ones?

Van, some pics:

This seems to be the standard length--around 80mm, but I can measure to be sure. I do have the clamp bolt around somewhere, too.

Tx, Neal, those are cool for sure. Need a level or two up for the project and want a bit longer as well.

Will definitely keep it in mind.

Probably not up your alley, but I really like the BLB stems...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/BLB-Retro-Q...8AScLKGI-m5A_Q

Of course there are the Cinelli Milano badged classics.

I had seen a Gilco Columbus stem, but not sure if it was Cinelli or 3TTT or ITM who made them. Maybe they were custom.

I have a horizontal chromed steel 3T in 100mm with 26.∅ clamp that I bought off iBob but never used. I'll pull it out and take photos this weekend if you're interested!

I've got the VO stem you're looking for. It's NOS and doesn't have the bell mounting hole. 100mm extension measured along the top - 26mm clamp. I've been meaning to put it up on eBay, but haven't gotten around to it. PM me if you're interested.
