Oooh I just searched the Tommasini Lounge thread for Tommasini Comp and see the Wino Ryder has a Comp similar to yours on page 10 that was dated to 1991, so maybe our bikes share a birth year. Click on link below to be taken directly to that one...

Thanks and yes I must say I've been tempted by taking my bike back home on a pilgrimage too. Mine is currently enduring a UK winter, though to be fair its mostly tucked up inside in the warm for the coming months, but it still wishes it was in Italy right now, and wish I was too

if your rear dropouts are 126mm, I’d get 7400 for freewheels. If the dropouts are 130, I’d get 7700 for cassettes. If the current hubs are Uniglide, you could match them and grab a couple cassettes for future use. Others here are more familiar with 7-8 speed D.A. Compatibility issues. It can get tricky. So far I’ve skipped the tricky stuff by having only friction or 9-10 speed.

Low miles and use by the appearance of the brake tracks.
needs tires, my guess dead, and or refresh the adhesive.
clock the bars back a few degrees
service all bearings. My hunch the grease is toast.
hesitant on the paint scheme... but late 80's -90's was not a period of high taste

OK, got it back from the bike shop... They changed the housing, re-wrapped the bars (Cinelli cork), did a whole once-over, and built up the Dura Ace hubs with H Plus Son silver archetype wheels, which they set up tubeless with Enve 700x27 tires (they fit with plenty of room!). Here's a shot of her at the bike shop. I just added a Selle San Marco Rolls saddle too (I'll post that pic soon). Can't wait for the inaugural ride... It honestly looks brand new once it got cleaned and polished.

Yeah, I could stare at that bike for a while. Lots to look at. +1 for the white saddle and tape.

Figured if I'm ditching tubular, might as well skip clinchers and just go tubeless... When the bike shop confirmed that the tubeless 700x27 tires fit fine, it was a no-brainer.
As for pedals, I'm going to try the vintage Look pedals that came on the bike (my bike shop had the cleats to match). If that doesn't work, I may play around with toe cages...

I finally got the new saddle on there, and it's definitely an improvement in feel and looks (if I might say so myself). The new rims, tires (700x27), and tubeless set up are very plush, comfy, and fast. Loving it so far...

Beautiful bike. But how did they set up the H Plus Son Archetype to be tubeless when it is not a tubeless compatible rim?
It's not a good idea to run a high pressure tubeless setup on non-tubeless clincher rim.

Very nice score. You will love it!
I will take this opportunity to zag and recommend against the TB14s. They look great and are well made but do not belong on a racing bike, even if you’re not going to race it. My experience with them (2 pairs) is they will suck the liveliness out of a good frame. I’ve used my set on a Cinelli Supercorsa, Pinarello Record, and a ‘92 Ciöcc. Each time, first few rides on the frame, I thought (especially with the Supercorsa) “nice but I don’t get all the fuss”, but ride quality skyrocketed on better rims. 8 speed Campy hubs and food quality tires btw. The Cinelli rolls on Campy Omega rims now and the Ciöcc on Open Pros. The TB14s are on my touring bike and city bike now and we’re living happily together like that.
I don’t think you need “full vintage” look with that frame, so shouldn’t feel obliged to pursue the shiny box section look. I’m a fan of the Open Pro. Velocity AC 23 and DT Swiss, I think RR415, are nice lower profile rims that are well regarded.
