Hello, I am the owner of a GT RTS All Terra Mountain Bike with Girvin Vector Forks. I took the bike in to be serviced and was told the the suspension had seen better days. I am thinking about replacing the suspension so that it works optimally again.

I know nothing about suspension so I'd appreciate if if you could tell me the best way to go about improving the suspension cheaply (or at minimal cost). I've read something about converting to a spring instead of the elastomer (which has now gone rock hard).

good luck finding new elastomers. Thats about your only option. Personally, Id start saving for a new bike.

That is one option, but not preferable. I have read somewhere on another forum of a place that sells them new for around $14 each or something like that.

The problem is that they harden up over time with use, so they need to be replaced quite regularly.

Rapid Descent in Scotland can provide elastomers; but it's still ancient technology.....and expensive and heavy

I'll go for the CORMF option to replace the elastomer.
