Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Setting up synchro shift on Shimano e-tube

I recently purchased a new bike. The bike came with Shimano 12spd Di2. I downloaded and e-tube app to my phone and connected it via Bluetooth to the Di2 unit. So far so good.

Here is my question. When I was looking at the front and rear cog setup, I noticed the rear cog in the e-tube is set for 11 - 30. In reality I have an 11 - 34 cassette. No problem. I figured I would just make the change in the e-tube app and all would be good. Except...

When I change the rear cog setting to 11 - 34 and tape 'next' I am taken to a screen where I need to setup the S1 and S2 setting. This is where I am stumped. I am greeted by a blank screen where, I assume I need setup the S1 and S2 profiles. Not wanting to mess up the Di2, I have left the setting on the 11 - 30 rear cassette.

Has anyone setup the S1 and S2 settings for an 11 - 34 rear cassette? Can anyone provide me with some guidance?

Thank you.

I don't use synchronized mode but Any Di2 questions I ever had has been answered at bettershifting.com

Check out the page for Synchronized setup here: Set up synchronized shifting using Di2 E-Tube mobile apps (bettershifting.com)

Did you buy the bike locally? Does the shop let the mechanics talk to the customer? You know where this line of questioning is going..... <grin>

However the link redcon1 above gave you should answer your questions.

Just go with the defaults unless you know for certain you want different.

redcon1 Thank you. That is exactly what I was looking for.

Iride01 Alas, no. I did not buy the bike locally. But the advice from RedCon1 was what I was looking for. Thank you.
