Show off your vintage Paramount
Haven't seen a thread for this yet (if one exists feel free to delete mine or merge). my first and hopefully not last is a '92 PDG3. When I bought it someone had replaced the stock 7 speed RX100 with 8 speed Dura-Ace. I've replaced the wheels and added an Easton carbon fork. I've got the original wheels & fork so its easily switched back to stock.
And for those concerned, the lower end shifters are temporary until a better set of Dura Ace (or even 105) shifters is found. What is on there now fit the bill at the time and are functional... enough said.

I highly doubt a Paramount originally came with a RX100 group. RX100 was definitely mid-range, technically slightly below 105 though the only difference was the finish.
EDIT: I guess they did make Paramounts with RX100. I am surprised. I would have expected at least 105 even for the lowest tier Paramount.

um, no... the Dura Ace drive train is very much intact. I did replace the down tube shifters with STI. Searched (and still searching) for some good Dura Ace STI's but haven't found a set yet. I traded some other stuff out for a set of NIB 8 speed Shimano STI shifters. Low end yes but the price was right and will be replaced with a more worthy set in due time.

Actually a few did, at least in 1992. Here are scans from a catalog showing the PDG 2 & 3 had either a full or partial RX-100 group. The PDG 5 and higher had 105 or Ultegra. I saw another PDG 3, same year that was all stock and it had the RX-100 group on it. Mine still has the RX-100 brakes.

I only had the frame and did not exactly do a traditional build. VO crankset and wheels, Shimano drivetrain with Ultegra indexed bar end shifters, Nitto rando handlebars, and Tektro aero levers. One change from the photo is that I took off the 23mm trainers and replaced them with 28mm Pasela Tourguards.

My three.
I've had them for a very long time. They hung as wall art for 15 years.
Now the two 24" (60cm) ones have saddle and 700c wheel upgrades and I ride them all the time on nice summer days.
Kool Orange ones are 1972 P15-9 (matching husband and wife pair, the small frame one is pretty close to NOS)
The silver Mist one is a 1973 P10-9
