26" x x1-1/4" Rims
Does anyone know where to get 26" x 1-1/4" rims (not 26 x 1-3/8 or 27 x 1-1/4) either new or used, steel or alloy? I'm looking for suitable rims for a mid 50's Humber restoration/rebuild; 32 & 40 hole.

It's important to know what the EXACT tire size is as there are several 26" rim sizes. Once you determine that, then try on line. In the Raleigh, NC area, I go to All Star Bikes in Cary, NC they've come through for me with hard to find parts before, especially wheels.

You mean EA1/597s? They show up on ebay from time to time. There was an alloy one a while back. I think it was just one.
You might also try the Schwinn 26x1 3/8, that's the same size but it looks like a schwinn rim and will probably be 36/36 hole.

Happy hunting. Be patient, they'll turn up. In the meantime, you can use some 1 3/8" wheels to get the bike on the road.

Have you told us about this Humber? Is it a clubman-style bike or something?
I have a '63 Raleigh Lenton Sports Convertible, which I perpetually contemplate downgrading to a regular Sports-- take the Cyclo 2-sp derailleur for another project. I could easily be persuaded to switch the 26 x 1 1/4 wheels to 26 x 1 3/8 ones, but then the trick is to find a pair of the latter in 32/40 drilling.... And anyway, they're just standard Dunlop rims, not special lightweight ones; kinda boring and kinda heavy. Hardly worth the effort of switching them over.
