Help Needed: Zipp 2001 Restoration Small Beam to trade
Hi guys, i'm a really new to this forum
i'm relatively new to bicycles, having restored my grand uncle's raleigh superbe roadster a while back and that started my journey in learning and riding bikes.
i am very much attracted to the aesthetics, the history and provenance of bicycle designs and early on in this journey, i learned about the Zipp 2001 - [at that time, 1994] a revolutionary carbon beam frame bike that was breaking records and was banned from racing. it ticked all my boxes and it was to be a bike that i will one day own and ride.
fast forward to today, and yes, i've recently acquired a Zipp 2001 - large frame and large beam.
And my plan is to upgrade and update the bike and components to more recent carbon offerings on the market
problem is, the bike doesn't fit me. i'm 1.85meters tall with an inseam of in my guess-timate 30-31 inches?
so i'm guessing i might need a small beam and i'm looking to trade a large beam for it
i'm also wondering if there are any members riding these frames or who have restored these frames who could shed some insight on restoring such a frame? any where to find parts? tricky issues? carbon frame fatigue/ failure worries?
thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Benny

Hey there, I don't mind the colour. Are u intending to trade or sell it? What is the condition of the beam? Best if u have a picture of ur small beam. I've got a large beam that I don't mind trading & yes, I'll pay for shipping it over.

Do you still have the beam? I'm about to pick up a small frame/ large beam and in need of the small beam.. and I'm in Canada. I'd be more than happy to pay shipping and I'm open to suggestions on price.
FYI: I'm going to be riding my Zipp across the country as a training ride for an around the world human powered boat journey that takes "Peal The Ocean's" boat named "WiTHiN" further.. rather than piloting her just from Tofino to Hawaii.. I'm going around the world. I've lined up a weekly one hour radio show that I'll be broadcasting from "WiTHiN" as well as during my ride across the continent.. problem is, the Zipp I'm getting is~ as mentioned~ a large beam. I'm a shortie..
if you no longer have it.. any suggestions where I might look??
Thanks in advance
