Had a pinch flat on my first ride with brand new tires yesterday. The hole did seal and I made it back to my car ok but, it blew sealant all over the place and the tire is damaged beyond repair. One of my favorite things about tubeless
Had to clean up the mess anyway so I decided to disassemble the whole thing and give it some fresh bearings and lube.....and order couple more tires

I posted my other black bikes upthread some time ago, but never posted this, my ‘17 Dedacciai Gladiatore 2. The red accents make it not as black as some, but I suppose it still counts.

StuBotNYC wow, I don’t remember an Ebony Edition. Pre-canti dropouts, Suntour Superbe Pro…what’s that, a mid-‘80s model? I guess McCartney and Wonder came out with Ebony and Ivory— which was a huge thing— a little before that, but still, I’m surprised C-dale issued an Ebony Edition.

1986 SR800 special edition Ebony and Coral painted frames, and color matched components. In 1987 the Black Lightning was introduced without the Superbe Pro components or black and gold Grande Royal Dia Compe calipers, a downgrade imo.

The 84 Centurion Turbo also came in a "dark" version. Outfitted with standard Superbe Pro, but had the cool Dia Compe copper calipers and matching levers. Here's mine with some updates. The calipers are modern Dia Compe dual pivots.

WV is not flat..
I know this will drive the vintage purist crazy, but I made this 1976 Austro-Daimler Vent Noir a little more suitable for my riding style. I still have all of the original DA parts including the drilled crank and Crane RD. Fun ride and will only get better when the Brooks gets broken in.

I like speed
2020 Specialized Roubaix. I built this up a few months ago from a frameset found on eBay to find a plusher ride for sportive's and fondo's. It delivers on this characteristic but lacks the acceleration of a race bike. Putting on nicer wheels makes it a bit livelier.

Oh no, that got adjusted down very quickly. This is right when I brought it out and I just installed the saddle. No need for that kind of discomfort.

Not as racy as some of the 🔥 rides above but it’s definitely still black.

Yea, it's the bike that attained the name and launched the brand the following year. They made an Ebony and a Coral version in 1986 (with grey accents and hot pink cables same as my sr400), and released the first not as well equipped Black Lightning in 1986. They continued making Black Lightning I believe in to almost the end of the USA built bikes; it's sad what venture capitalist scum did to a great American brand and it's talented dedicated employees, now it's just another Chinese bike importer with an American design team (I hope).
