Plus, I have this.

That'll work!

Thanks! (And another of those choices - I love the three top of the TT guides for full length housing a al early '80s bikes. Hate running raw cable along the TT. TiCycles has built me two ti bikes with those three guides. Probably never done it for anyone else. I don't file off the stops on frames I get that have them but they sit there unused.)

My main problem with pump pegs behind the head tube is that in nine out of ten cases once you stick a pump there it won't be sitting parallel to the top tube. That really annoys me and looks "cheap," and I cannot rely on a builder to get it right because it might still come down to the size of the mounting hole on the pump as well.

The choices I made for the chrome and paint are still not set in stone, as I will circle back with the builder after the frame is complete to confirm such details. But for now I'm satisfied that I will like the results I had in mind.

-Gregory
Yep, very hard to get this right, Dave said he has something like a line in the sand I think.

On mine the cable giudes stick out more so that was an issue that Dave was concerned with but I wanted all of Andy's details, you really don't want the pump touching and rubbing on the frame which often happens if the pump hugs the TT like it should.

I put bigger rubber caps on the feet of the pumps to space the pump away from the ST or TT and make it more level which can be a little kludgy, especially if you don't use clear tubing to camouflage it.

In the early 80s, it was not unusual to have a second set of cage mounts under the down tube (at least on tourers). It’s nice to have that option if your cockpit area ever gets too crowded.

Looking forward to the unveiling!

That's why I got all three, all options and configurations on the table.

But it was unusual for racing bikes, which is the look he’s going after.

Ha, ha. You all are killing me. I couldn't even last what, six hours? I feel like the only way that all of the questions about practical options (like a NDS stay-mounted pump) will be put to rest is to show my inspiration. So here, cat's out of the bag!

If there's anything that gives all of us deeply pleasure, it's the vicarious thrill of reading an announcement like yours. Heartfelt congratulations.

The Silca pump will be a frame fit model, no doubt. Which head? Silca, Campy steel, or Campy plastic (if the latter two are not unobtainable)?

Whichever you choose, keep an eye on the frame's paint where the pump head and handle nestle against it. I had a Bianchi Specialissima where the Campy head (forget which; I had pumps with both) wore through the paint and into the underlying chrome, resulting in terminal rusting.

A lot of modern steel frames get modern components these days, so looking forward to seeing one with classic componentry.

Sooooo Cool. A Hetchins Racer sighting on the Saturday morning hammer-fest would put a smile on my face.

Haven't thought about it too much, yet, but I will actually probably use a Campagnolo frame clamp for one that's slightly shorter than my 24" seat tube. I would like not to cover the ornate Magnum Opus seat lug where it joins the tube!

This is just fantastic, I would have put money on it, the only best choice IMO.

These were partial inspiration for my Strawberry and two of the coolest bikes I have encountered here.
