Do The Brakes Brake The Front Wheels First Or The Rear Wheels First?

Whether it is a city bike or a professional road bike, brakes are an essential part of the safety of the entire riding process. A little carelessness can lead to traffic accidents. Should the brakes brake the front wheels first or the rear wheels first

1. Some people feel that front wheel braking works better. Due to the influence of inertia, the friction between the road surface and the front wheel will be strengthened when the front brake is used, and the brake of the front wheel will have a better braking effect. But it's easier to keep the tires from spinning, causing the bike to slide like a brick on the road. Therefore, use the front brake with caution when driving fast, downhill, etc.

2. Many people feel that it is safer to brake the front and rear wheels together. But in fact, this approach is more likely to produce a "flick" phenomenon! Because the deceleration force of the front wheel is greater than the deceleration force of the rear wheel, if the front brake is still braking when the rear wheel slips, the rear wheel will throw the front wheel, and the force of the rear brake must be reduced immediately, or the rear brake must be completely released. to restore balance.

We have one of your camouflaged bikes at the shop it needs a lot of work you should send them a check for the cost of the bike and we can help him find something of quality, I can see where the budget for the company goes.

Possibly a chunk goes to someone at BF. I can't fathom any other reason they would let this continue.

The physics of braking vs steering stability shows that the rear brakes should be the first and primary source of speed reduction.

In that case, please disconnect your front brake and take a ride down a steep hill. There are a few West of Denver that I can suggest.

That would be quite illogical.

Not if you actually believe your flawed premise.

It would be one thing if it was merely free advertising "infomercials." But this one crosses the line into potentially harmful disinformation.

A good bike shop should set the front brake so less force can be applied by the rider although this is more difficult to do with the new hydraulic disc brakes on bikes.

What have never been considered important is bike riding instruction in schools. Parents teach a child how to ride a bike without crashing but are clueless about how to ride the bike safely on city streets. This clueless children grow up to become equally clueless adult cyclists. To rent a kayak I needed to watch a safety video. To rent a sailboat I needed to take a course and get certified. But I can buy a bicycle and get zero information on how to use it safely.
