Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Man, I don't know if they'd make it to show time, but I guess I'll have to pick some up to find out. I wish that I could find some locally, but it's not looking good. Target evidently carries their pancakes and crepes - yeah, don't think that's going to work.

It may sound dumb and shilly, but I will say that I loved having stupid amounts of storage with the cargo bibs. I tend not to eat much on the bike, but decided to keep snacks in my thigh pockets and have a bite every 5 mile interval (the Garmin beeps at me, making for a convenient reminder) - it went well and I'll probably carry on with that on longer rides.

When touring it is imperative to get enough calories and water, of course. My total load was at least 275 pounds, riding 80+ miles per day average. Big breakfast, pancakes when possible, good sized lunch at a cafe when possible, big dinner, then to the grocery store for juice and evening snacks and food to carry on the bike the next day.
One strange thing was candy bars and certain fatty foods did not appeal to me at all once a few days in. I did carry several bananas, a loaf of bread, and cookies on the bike.

My wife is from Louisiana. Makes a mean gumbo.

There is a little shop in southern Louisiana that we have to hit every time we head that way. Usually bring back a cooler full of local stuff.

Actually, this is the stuff I use and it is pretty amazing. 3 scoops per bottle, and it works.

placed an order on a 2022 madone Sl 7 force etap with power meter, and switched the cockpit for the SLR cockpit.

Suppose to arrive in October. Stoked.

I rarely eat. I did bring a couple sleeves of Blok's on Saturday, and consumed one package, but that was a 200k.

No way. That's great. Those trucks will last forever. Blower?

New Tundra should be out in the next week.

No blower. My hauling ass days are long past and the 4.0 is plenty speedy.

I'm not 100% sold on the new Tundra until I see one in person. At this point, all I see is a grill.

I drive worse in the Taco. Made a brief appearance and then went back in the garage. Very unlikely I will ever get rid of it.

There were a couple photos of two red ones that came off a transport. Kinda ugly. V8 is gone. TTV6 and a hybrid, I think.

My ex was a disciple of Emeril Lagasse, got his books and practiced his stuff. She got really good at it. Gumbo, shrimp po' boys, you name it. I really miss that.

The current Mrs John has a brother in law who cooks as a hobby and he's really good, too. He used to make turkey enchiladas the week after Thanksgiving, then they moved away.

My young German Shepherd loves ice cubes. Every time I open the freezer door, she's sitting there patiently waiting with a pleading and hopeful look. My old Beagle-boy doesn't share her opinion in the least.
