My ebike accelerates too quickly
I put together a Voilamart 1500watt/48volt rear hub kit that has a SW900 LCD display and a controller built into the hub. It takes just the slightest turn of the throttle to almost pop a wheelie. It can be kind of dangerous when going slow or starting out. Is there anyway to reduce the sensitivity in the twist throttle? I contacted the manufacture and so far nothing on this. I read through the manual but didn’t see anything that might help.
thanks

I don't know, but this link
https://ebikechoices.com/voilamart-e...on-kit-review/
seems to suggest there is open source software available to reprogram it. There also appears to be an SW900 display that is programmable as well.
https://www.******.com/r/ebikes/comm...ec_controller/
suggests a different controller. Might be a bit of a super nerd project to do though.

If you gain a stone of weight, it should help the problem. Also, lean into the acceleration to avoid the kick?

You want to be looking for a term called 'ramp', maybe 'acceleration ramp' in the advanced settings. It should be user adjustable. A longer ramp lengthens the time it takes for the power to build.

do you have PAS? Looks like zero mode/non zero mode might help a little. Also, current limit might help.

Yes, it has PAS. I think I have gone through those different settings When riding but I will try it again on the next trip. I will look into the current limit also, I also thought maybe that might help but I figured it would just reduce the overall power and I still want to go as fast as I can, when I can. I will read up.

Since you have PAS, set it on the lowest setting. Then from a stop begin to move the bike forward by pedaling, not by the throttle. Within a couple turns of the crank the motor will kick in but since you are already moving you will not experience the "wheelie" effect. Then you can add throttle or higher PAS settings as you desire.

there is a zero mode that does exactly that, PAS first and then throttle
