Got out with my wife for an easy 15 miles on rolling hills during our daughter's gymnastics session. Yet another beautiful day. We've earned it given the nasty weather we had in Sept.

I got in 37 mile ride after work and took a variation of my normal route and it felt great. I guess maybe the different route helped a little because I just felt good riding. I had on knee warmers and arm warmers but I could have done without the knee warmers to be honest. It is beautiful weather out there, I hope it holds up because I am planning on heading to the mountains( Skyline Drive Va.) Sunday for a try at some real climbing.

First ride with winter bike 1.5 hours. It was not too bad, but of course have to wear layers and come home all wet. Then again, we did have an awesome summer for riding here in Vancouver, and weather forecast looks very good for next few days,

Same here in Maine cervelo-van;The past two months have been great bikeing weather but the chill in the air and clear Canadian blue have issued in fall with a beautiful blast of color in the hardwood and snow above 3000 ft .//I rode a loop through the Sortwell preserve with earmuffs and hunter blaze orange I suggest that folks here go in groups and wear blaze orange.I believe that hunting season here is until Febuary well past bikeing season./Kenneth

64 miles today, is was beautiful out too. I was thinking of the roast beef sub I had waiting for me to get me home with a 18.5 avg.
Birthday is 9 days away, could this count? (57)
I plan on doing 57 anyway on the 12th but was curious if something were to happen.

Beautiful day here, mid 60s with brilliant sunshine. No ride today though as I've been setting up my daughter's trampoline in the backyard. I also have an Octoberfest Party to attend this evening. BUT!, I am doing a nice hilly organized metric early in the morning outside the Asheville area.

Got to get back to finishing the red cabbage I'm taking to the party tonight.

I actually did an easy ride for a change. 62K in 2:47, HR barely went above 100. It was windy in Vancouver today.

First ride after 5 days forced rest owing to a business trip. It's amazing how much worse I felt than less than a week ago - I felt like I had lost several months worth of training. Maybe it's all the rich food and wine that comes from eating in a restaurant 3 times/day. Also, the weather has turned and I need to adjust my outerwear. Riding in a sweatshirt wasn't enough - I need some kind of windbreaker and soon, a stocking hat under my helmet.

I finally "qualified" for this forum last Sunday - and boy are you folks intimidating! The mileage you cover with ease has me envious. I've only been riding since this past March. I lost half of June to a lung infection and most of July to a nasty bike crash injury and I feel like I've been starting from scratch. So, it is with great pleasure that I get to post that, since my birthday last Sunday, my husband and I have cycled 117.7 miles, including a 16.5 mile ride this morning. Even though the terrain was pretty flat I was feeling it on the way back. I am hoping that some day a 50-60 mile ride will be as easy for me as it is for so many of you!

Did a cyclo cross race yesterday in Columbus. Raced in the B Race which included the 45+ division among the 47 entries. I had to leave before the final results were posted. I finished about mid-pack in the race but don't know how I ended up in my division. BTW the overall race winner was 52 yrs old. The start was terrible for me. We had to do a "La Mans" start. They had us turn our bikes upside down resting on the handlebars and seat. We were lined up 75 yards behind the bikes and had to run to the bikes to begin the race. I can not run a step because of my bad ankle so my "hop-step sprint" must have looked silly in the foot race. I actually was ahead of about 1/3 of the riders at the first turn which surprised me. From there, I picked off around 12 riders over the first few laps of the 45 minute race and only got passed by a few.

Total miles- around 12. With the HR at near max, 45 minutes feels like forever.

40 miles down through the Greenville Watershed and back up the hill to Zirconia.

Maybe next week the leaves will start changing and I'll get some photos.

Today I rode the metric 62 miles at the Hilly Helalcious starting in Fletcher, NC. Great day for a ride with a cool start and light overcast. I started in arm and knee warmers with a vest and took the vest off after 30 miles. My ride time was just under 4 hours/ 4:15 total time with 5500' of climbing. I always forget about the steep pitches on this ride but they were all manageable and the scenery was great. So was the food after the ride.

Rode a short easy ride with my son saturday and a hard 2 hour fireroad and singletrack ride alone today. My wife, who doesn't ride, wanted me along for a walk so we drove back to the forest and walked a really nice path.

I'd planned on trying to go 56-60 miles today so I could "ride my age" but could only make 47+ miles.

Lots of hills, a bit chilly, a bit windy, knees not happy, and I ran out of gas. My previous best was 31 miles so it wasn't a total loss.

Did 37.5 this cool morning and saw this guy

then saw this guy
sorry for the not so good pictures but ....they are what they are. :-)
I rode the Indianhead/Whiteplains Railtrail from end to end , it is 13 miles long and I rode to the start from my house. I use part of the trail almost on every ride but this was the first time I rode end to end.

53 mostly-flat rural Central Indiana miles today on a CIBA ride. 16.5mph. Too many miles of headwind but the tailwind miles were nice.

Today was a beautiful crisp fall day with a slight chance of rain. No rain, but nice and cool. We rode for 1 hour 20 minutes then stopped for pie.............. pizza pie!

40 miles with my son-in-law this morning. I don't get to ride with him very often. I took him over some of my favorite roads. "How did you find these?" he asked. Had both grandsons and families here for the day. Great chaos (the grandsons are each 15 months).

20 miles on Sunday with a buddy. What was supposed to be a recovery ride ended up in a pissing match. I'll have to do my recovery ride tonight.
