Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hey there, technically all of the Spesh frames are OSBB, but come with the Delrin cups that make them BB30. I've used Quarqs for years and love 'em. The Quarq you see pictured is the Specialized specific model, combined with the specialized cranks, it comes in at 600 grams. Pretty stinking light. The Pic below has my stock SRAM Red Crankset, the Specialized version on the right, both BB30. My S975 version (also BB30) Quarq weighs like 788 grams.

Thank you for the explanation. I currently have a Quar Riken in GXP BB. By being oversized does it mean it will fit both bb30 and english threaded GXP? My PM weighs an pretty hefty 835g but I'm changing the rings on it so it may come down 100g or so.

Yep, exactly, the frame set comes with the GXP cup adaptors. I don't know how it's different from a complete bike build, or if it is, if you are ordering a complete bike, or just the frame set.

We get our frames from Specialized and our group sets from Shimano, etc...so how we get our stuff is different than if we went into a bike shop and placed an order.

Nice work. Rails look great. How have they been in the wind?

I have a feeling your 66s don't see much action next season.

Thank you all.

sbxx, I believe they are better behaved than the Kinlin 300/CX-Ray rims, to be honest. The first day I rode them, there was constant wind, with reported gusts of 40-50. The typical Saturday team ride goes from Golden, up to 128 via Simms. We regroup in a park in Superior, then do Level 3, Candela's, then 93 to Leyden. Again, I was amazed how nicely they handled those gusts. I took it easy down 93, as there are some canyons that seem to amplify the gusts at certain spots. They did just fine, and the cross-tail along Leyden allowed me to open it up, and the noise they made sealed the deal.

Speaking of black bikes, I was in Excel last week. They got some NeilPryde closeouts - Bura SL and Alize. Bura was under $2k and should be around 800g in a 56.

I went with the November/Novatech hubs. They look rather like the American Classic hubs I seem to crow about. So far, so good. I am interested in the new Wheelhouse, along with the new Rail 34's. So much stuff, so little time. I do agree on the sweet spot though.

Thanks Herbie. I have absolutely no complaints.

Nice deal on the NeilPryde, but it's got the funky seat stay thing going on.
