Yesterday...I had to push myself because it was getting dark and I don't have a light for my bike yet. I saw some more dear. One of them was just about coming out of the woods and went back in, so we scared each other.

Visual Awareness of Cyclists
Hello Biking World,
I am a high school student who is working on an engineering project to fix the problem of visual awareness and safety of bikers. I compiled a list of questions that are related to the issue in order to give me a statistical analysis of how to solve my problem. The link to the survey is below. And this isn't a scam or spam. Thank You.

Sincerely,
James

20 miles/70 min, / 11 m/hr wind / 25*F with 20*F windchill / 7:00 AM / Trek 2300
Took me 30 mins to put on my cold gears and getting ready. Great ride except for struggle against the headwind and wind gusts. Happy riding!

a measly 10 miles...
it was supposed to be a day off from the bike, but decided to just toodle around the 'hood anyway.
and for a bonus, it it pushed me over the 6K mile mark...

I only rode 8 miles this morning, but it was 19*F so it still counts.

Did my first 70 mile ride yesterday, high winds almost got me to turn back after 10 miles. I have a century (my first) in 3 weeks, i am now confident i will finish it...

Who has time to ride??? Don't y'all work?
Besides, I have a nasty cold--really bad one. Pity, too, because it had been raining and snowing so much in northern California recently and now we have a nice respite from that and I'm stuck indoors. Sucks.

Non omnino gravis
46.8 miles with 2,674ft of climbing. The only goal leaving the driveway was to finish up the Strava Climbing Challenge for the month, and I got that done plus a couple hundred feet. I've really cut back on climbing these past few months, after averaging ~40,000ft a month February through September. Dropped it to 30k a month for October and November, and this month should finish somewhere between 30 and 35 thousand. I'm okay with that. Should finish the year right around 450,000 vertical feet.

The temperature was on the upper 20s a few days ago and this morning is 72. There goes white Christmas.
