Rudy is a twice rescued dog. First time from a breeder and then from someone who adopted him and then neglected him.
When he came to my home it was only for "a couple of weeks", or so I was told. I don't like dogs.
Rudy had not been groomed in a long time. He was a stinking mess. He walked into a parked car one night due to not being groomed. Kinda of like a Sheep at first, but with dreadlocks.
He has found his forever home. I am pleased.
Rudy is always ready to help with naps, watching the blackberries grow, or my struggles with building my first wheel.
Likes his beer too.

This is Macie Doodles...our full bred Bichon Frise! These pictures were taken at the 2013 Spaghetti 100 in Florida. I did a metric century and Macie was there to greet me at the finish!

Loving the photos of dogs in baskets and trailers. I could get a trailer for my little one, but the big guy would A) be to heavy and B) not tolerate it.

Don't have many pics with dogs + Bikes, here goes: Cher, a sweet yellow lab, who passed in 2007. Gunny, a GSP/once in a lifetime hunter and best friend ever, lost to slug bait poisoning at age 9. Amoungst humans were are recognizing different kinds of intelligence are breaking down stigmas about what is smart and it is becoming recognized that standard IQ test is a measure of one kind of intelligence as we define it. My dog Jasper in the OP is probably part lab based on his face and his personality. Sometimes I think he's an idiot, but really it is probably me not understanding him.

Labs often get that bad wrap, I wonder how true it is, are they less intelligent than other breeds or is it something about their disposition that we associate with lower intelligence?

Very lengthy & expensive treatment. She was very skittish and fearful. We had her wear a "thunder-jacket" for 3 months to ease the trembling as she acclimated to our home. Even after 3 years, she still stays in three downstairs rooms of our house.... afraid of the upstairs & kitchen. She doesn't play fetch and is uninterested or afraid of doggie toys.
On a positive note, she has evolved into a nice, people-centered pet. We often take her to visit my MIL at a assisted living facility and Snookie is a gentle and calm guest.... greeting the seniors and sitting quietly as she is petted. She loves walks and meeting other people and dogs.

Our puppy Chewie is from the humane society. Supposedly his litter was left at the dump. It was only later that we figured out WHY they might have wanted to leave them at the dump

Edit: Neat- I've not heard of a Bruno de Jura before. But they are probably related. Eeyore is a Basset hound, which is also originally a French breed. Yours is more closely related to the Bloodhound.

Here's a few pics of young Jasper, our two year old Boxer. He enjoys our rides on the bike path, as long as it's not too hot and I manage the pace - so he doesn't burnout.
Ears back - aero mode.
He likes his snacks...and "mine" too.
