Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

TerraTrike EVO

My wife hasn’t ridden her recumbent EZ1 for a couple of years. She had gotten a fear of falling and at 76, was cycling pretty slow. I bought her an electric assist Trek but she was still afraid of falling. She decided to trade it in on a TerraTrike Bosch EVO that we will pick up tomorrow.
as this new bike is quite large, i’ll Need to make some room in the garage. I’ll be getting rid of the recumbent, a Surly CrossCheck, an old Raleigh ladies bike and an old Schwinn. Who knows, I might get a trike for myself as well.

My wife had the same fear of falling. We recently bought her a Terra Trike Rover and she loves it. From the moment she sat on it at the dealer, she had a smile on her face. She now rides a lot more and still enjoys the trike. Hope it works out for yours as well.

Our LBS, before they closed, used to sell Terratrikes. A couple bought a tandem version and rode it across the country. The wife was overweight but lost a lot of it and they had a blast.

The TerraTrike web site says the Purion console is head and tail light expandable. The lights that work with it are Lupine. They are over $300, which would be ok if they provide exceptionally better lighting than standard bolt on aftermarket products.
Are Lupine lights worth putting on a trike?

Lupine told me that the headlights are available but that the tail lights that are compatible wouldn't be available for a year. I hate getting things half right. I told the bike dealer to forget about the Lupines and just mount whatever lights he has in stock. She is only going to ride on bike trails, no roads.

We picked up her new trike today. She loves it already. The Bosch assist helped her to keep up with me.

No. In fact, I bought myself a Terra Trike EVO as well. Now we ride the local trails on matching bikes.
