Well, Balls! The Avalanche just shiz the bed. I had to drive the Firebird to work today. That is not a cold weather car. Heat works but the squirter don't.
Got off the expressway last night and the lifters in the truck were just making mad noise. Seams I dropped a dod lifter most likely. So spent the evening ordering parts and gaskets. Going to dod delete it and be done with it. Buddy Ken will do the 'puter part for me. I have the original camshaft, lifters and trays from the 5.3 for the firebird build so that saved me about $350.00
Why? Why is it slways in winter? Fmt
I also find it hilarious that gm is in a class action lawsuit about this exact failure right now...

A neighbor researched the houses around the corner on a little street and thinks they were built to house workers who built Memorial Hall and other structures for America’s centennial celebration in 1876. Memorial Hall is not all that far of a walk.

The amount of snot that came out of my nose when I pulled off my thermal face mask was mind boggling. Landed in a pile like 2 inches tall.
I would post the picture but I think the description alone is enough to gross y’all out.

"The U.S. asbestos industry began in 1858 when fibrous anthophyllite was mined for use as asbestos insulation by the Johns Company, a predecessor to the current Johns Manville at a quarry at Ward's Hill on Staten Island, New York."
Asbestos was used in brakes and clutches for cars and still is in some cases. When I was learning brakes in the 70s my boss had us blow off the brakes with an air hose when we inspected brakes. This filled the air with brake dust. We also used a machine to grind new brake shoes to fit the drum. We were covered with brake dust for the rest of the workday. Of course, I smoked during this time which multiplies the effects of asbestos.
A friend died from mesothelioma in the mid 80s. He was a longshoreman and the ships would have some cargos packed in asbestos and the workers would just dive into it without any protection.
