In the US, just tell them it's a Schwinn. In Canada, sellers just call an obscure brand a Raleigh.

In this case the photos suck so can't tell the group but might be Shimano Light Duty. If so $50 is a good price

I don't buy widely unknown, obscure? bikes to resell, the Merz's get attention wherever I take them.

Some here in PNW of course know who he is, many don't BUT they do know what they are looking at when they see them and are glad they did see them.

Some of the comments and discussions I get are priceless, A guy at the Anacortes show in 2019 said it was worth the 400 mile trip just to see them and there were plenty of very serious bikes there.

Admittedly, I probably paid too much for a couple of them, couldn't care less, every time I ride one, I know exactly why I stepped up.

With any luck my kid will be able to hang onto them, if not, so be it, I'll be gone and it will be his call.

Nope, this is the first I have seen of it - I’m truly at my carrying capacity right now and need to get rid of several bikes/framesets so I’m trying hard not to look (other than here ).

Link for those interested: Link

And I agree that $500 for a resprayed frameset in only fair cosmetic condition is a reach at best.

Don't need any more bikes but you know, frame is easier to bring in the door. Alas, smaller than I'd want. Hopefully CO_Hoya didn't already post this one.

S&H puts this beyond my price range at 40% of the start price, but I won't lie, if money wasn't an object, I'd love to have it. Killer color too. Very close to my optimal size.

NOS / NIB Motobecane Le Champion starting at $700. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Motobecane-...m/164760969166

No but the Bilato Brothers company built bikes for both companies as well as many other well-known names like Ciocc, Battaglin, and Concorde.

I have never owned a Billato built frame but from what I have seen/heard, they are very well built and well respected fabricators.

This initially showed up on Seattle CL for about a grand. Wondering if someone is reselling it or if they decided to auction it instead. Gorgeous example regardless.

in the "brands i have never heard of but it's Shimano 600 and Columbus EL/OS" category

(note that there's some crimping on a seatstay, also obscure brand or not, but that paint and the seat tube cluster really look quality)

NAC Road Bike - $375

That S&H price is in scam territory. Always annoying when they try to pad the price with unreasonable S&H fees.

Of course, there's the local pickup option in Seattle, if you know a facilitator.

For the Lemond Poprad, if the measuring in the picture is from center to center, I believe the frame is actually a 52cm size. If I did not already have a 52cm Poprad, I would likely pursue this bike. Mine is a 52 and it measures that from C-C for the seat tube.

Those Poprads are fantastic bikes. They were sold as cyclocross bikes but they've got a great steel (TrueTemper OX Platinum) frameset and work really well for your gravel/touring needs if you don't mind cantis.

Speaking of Lemonds, this Team Gan Bilatto with postage-stamp sized photos (and sadly a non-original fork) is back.

https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/...291178409.html

Lemond Team Bike - $350 (NE Portland)

Lemond Team Bike. Mid 90s.

Sweet steel frame. Some good components. Needs new wheelset and shifters to ride. 61 cm.

Internal cables
Ultegra 8 spd rear derailleur
Ultegra brakes
Nitto stem
WTB seat
Serotta fork

Pedals not included.

e) because of the hideously small photos, it's hard to tell, but from another thread, i *think* that's a number plate tab, which indicates a really small production run (100-ish frames)?

I was going to buy this set but $71 to ship to Canada and that's just too much. Having said that, seller (Bill) will ship and I expect that US shipping would be so much cheaper.

https://raleigh.craigslist.org/bop/d...291300921.html

Campagnolo Veloce 9 speed group (partial) - $55 (Apex)

per ad:
For sale is a partial Campagnolo 9 speed group (no crankset - sorry). The components were removed from an older Marin road bike. Includes brake levers, front and rear brakes, front and rear derailleurs and cables. Also included is a 9 speed freewheel with a Campagnolo hub. All are in good shape, just need to be cleaned up a little. Come by and make me an offer!

No so much the bike alone but with the parts could be worth it. Presumably the bike is a Gitane and not a "Citane" but with Craigslist you never can tell.....

https://mendocino.craigslist.org/bop...292460622.html

Citane Super Vitus and lots of parts - $250 (Laytonville)

per ad:

Citane bike made in France, two boxes of new and used parts. It well worth the price.

I'm nearly completely ignorant regarding Windsors, but for some reason I doubt the seller when they claim it's almost 100% original. And repainted?
25" frame, $275.

I agree, and they have a lot of fans. Mine is a 2001 that I rebuilt with Ultegra 6500 and a set of Mavic Reflex SUP with Shimano 600 hubs. Also, it is Reynolds 853 for the main triangle. It had Avid Shorty 4 canti brakes on it, and they just were a pain to deal with. Just this morning, I pulled the Shorty 4s and installed Tektro 559 long reach calipers that I acquired last week. Took it out for a ride and I like them much more than the canti brakes. The drawback is the studs are the non-removable type, so they are still there. I briefly thought about cutting them off, but decided that was not a good idea. I am going to mount a front rack there anyway.

Never Fails to Amaze

Classic Schwinn Prologue Road Bike - $150 (Clearwater Beach)

I been looking for a black/gray Prologue for months & months and finally found a frame this past December. I just finished it up with 105 and DT Swiss wheels. Great ride so far. When perusing CL sites tonight, I find an ENTIRE bike for less than I paid for the frame. It never fails. Oh well, someone else can take advantage. No relationship or association.
