Touch-up paint on a carbon frame?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Touch-up paint on a carbon frame?

Hi
Do you guys use touch-up paint on your carbon frames or leave as it?
I would need to get colours bright red and white.
Do you buy paint from the manufacturer or some other source?

Leave as-is unless you're really a sissy about such things.

I'm told you're supposed to cover up the scratches if they're deep. Otherwise the UV gets in and makes your bike explode. Without warning. Catastrophic failure! Alarmist phrase!

I do it purely for aesthetics w/o regard to catastrophic failure.

If you decide again to do a touchup on the paint, whatever you use will leave a blob on the service. If you are a as bad as you claim about the looks of your bike, you may want to try a product call Langka. I use it on the custom paint on my show car and it actually does what they claim. And it isn't an expensive product and won't hurt the carbon fiber material.

I have used nail polish in the past.

The last time I did it, I used clear nail polish - when removing the bottom bracken, a large chunk of paint was pulled off. I used the nail polish just to protect the area and to keep any more paint from chipping off.

In the end, I touched up the frame in the three areas using nail polish (2 coats) and it looks great, can't even tell.

Almost did, but the story is that i purchased this frame as a demo and it had slight stratches. Wanted to get that "new frame" feeling so I touched it up. And now, YES, it is new lol

Is that being OCD or OCC (Obsessive Compulsive Cyclist)?
