I don't see why? It tends to be non-fun in many other sites with the previous versions of this format in use currently.

Why stress yourself and face a premature death? You have a bike, ride it. Thought the hokey-pokey was all that and tapshoes.

agreed.

the search function is crap. it used to work fine.

the member list is also crap. you can no longer find threads a user started. there is no longer any auto-complete for nicknames (meaning you have to search for complete and correct spellings of the user name)

I could go on and on about the stuff that was fine before, and is now not.

Yeah, they should take their own advice and quit cluttering up the forum with pollyannish cliches. this search problem has me ready to bust an artery in my brain.

Idiot with a thread running over two years not in Foo. Give up, assimilation is nigh. When did AM radio move to my telephone wires and when is the music coming back?

I haven't seen any recent updates regarding the Search functionality. I don't know the size of the development team working on vB4, or where on the issue backlog the search functionality is. Tom has much more of a direct line to the development team and will hopefully stop by when he can and give an update.

Actually, I'm currently in the hospital with pneumonia, and haven't had a real chance to follow up on this thread.

1. You're starting to gripe like a political blog, which isn't good in your own thread. Namaste, Botto.

2. Email digesting finally got me to the right post! I wasn't logged in, so we'll see in a minute.

3. Pneumonia is ROTTEN. It can kill a lot faster than my father's lung cancer, which is why he's going to Seattle for chemo. He quit 13 years ago and it's very small and new so we have a lot of confidence the Navy that gave him a career skill will be his ticket to fight.

You, me and the internet are fairly blessed and after 31 years of computer use I can tell you an asynchronous Java exploit to an email sysyem of a major search site is probably worse.

Set their upgrade back TWO YEARS...

PS I just finished rebuilding this dinky HP MATX with 95+ GB on 900 MHz AMD Duron 513 mb PC100, XP and SNAP it's not bad. Work with it

PPS I'm on your side also, Botto. I have crossed my fingers the last couple of times you were banned and hope you will remain for a long, long time. DQ1954 on the other hand was mildly strange and stuff but I never saw the banana plantation coming

.
.
EDIT: Once logged in you are again sent to #1...now THERE'S your question!

"Why does it work not logged in yet fails once you are"?

botto, give me specific cases, so I can make my case for an alternative. Instead of "Steaming pile", why not give me specific failures? I already know the shortcomings, but need additional observations for me to justify the proposal I am trying to push through, because it's not revenue negative, but it will fix the situation. I need to sufficiently justify why they should spend the money.

here's one small example -

when it worked, the old search engine could give me precise results.

such as:

search: botto
where: road cycling.
when: most recent.
show results as: posts.

that way i cold see if someone had replied to a thread.
