FS: Campagnolo Athena Aero Seatpost

For sale is a beautiful Campagnolo Athena, aero seatpost I've been hanging on to for a little over a decade that was pulled from a high end Tommasini. Sadly, I've not found the right opportunity to use it this long, so it is time to pass it to someone who has a build that needs a show stopper seatpost.

The one-bolt construction is all racing with an ultra short 170mm overall length (measured from center of the clamp to the end) and 155mm to the minimum insertion mark. The diameter is 27.2.

The anodizing is beautifully, done with milky silver sheen and all threads and hardware work flawlessly. There are some small blemishes that I highlighted but nothing noticeable when the post is mounted or very eye catching when it isn't.

** EDIT **
Discussion below has brought up questions on if the seatpost was shortened. In the end, I genuinely do not know. However, I don't like ambiguity so since there is even question, I'm going to simply assume it has and with it, I've lowered my price a good bit to reflect that.

Min insert length for that post is 6cm though, why was it shortened?

You know, I acquired it this way and didn't think anything of it since it wasn't going on an active build. When I pulled it out this time, I thought it looked a little short but the bottom seemed to check out at a quick glance and I was able to find some other short Athena seatpost examples while doing research, so I went with it. I certainly don't want to mislead anyone, though!

I certainly don't mean to imply you were trying to.

The short versions had a shorter aero section though, not a shorter base.
With 6 cm being the min insert I wonder where it would end up in the seat tube..

I'm glad you brought it up, Mackers. It could have resulted in someone purchasing it and being angry/disappointed by the sale and that's not the type of community we have here.
So, I'm going to adjust my language and price above. Full disclosure is imperative.

Cool stuff. Can you clarify how much post is available for insertion, pre-aero? At 6cm insertion how what would the dim be from top of seat tube to center of clamp. might just work for my Bottecchia.

Fair questions!

I snapped two images below. One, I lined up the end of the post over the insertion (the angle of the camera looks off but my pink mark is accurate) and another image is directly over where the aero begins, showing how much post is available.

Hopefully this helps!

Is the tape end on the bottom of the post in the pics? Looks like its past the bottom ?

The angle of the tape looks off on both images but it's just the camera angle. My pink marks are accurate at about 18cm for the bottom of the post and 60cm until the taper of the aero begins.

Thank you for that. I checked my frame and think it may leave me too little room to adjust. Good luck with it.
