What Cassette?

I’m picking up a set of Mavic wheels that have Deore LX hubs. These are going on my Specialized Hardrock for a 1X conversion. My question is, will any 8/9/10 shimano setup work with those hubs? Or do I need to be looking for a specific drivetrain?

AFAIK from various conversions on 8/9/10s drivetrains, any Shimano or SRAM will suffice (probably others too).

make sure it is not a 7speed because 8/9/10 won't work with the earlier 7 speed hubs. I have that problem with a set of early 90's xt 7 speed wheels.

Thank you very much for the info! The seller said this hub will accept 8/9/10 so that part looks good so far. Any recommendations for a BB/crank set up? I see lots of guys using cheap amazon parts on these conversions but I don’t think I want to go that route, I’d rather get a name brand on there.

I am using an xt crank and phill woods bb. just converted the early 90's triple crankset to a single. never had an issue with it.

If the cassette starts with an 11 tooth cog you can use it. 8-12 speed will all work as long as it starts with an 11. The cassettes that start with 9 or 10 tooth cog use different freehubs.
