Chainring for Sora 2x9 crankset

Hi,

The other day i was going to replace the chain on my Principa Gravel bike. Bike is used as an all weather commuter, and love it for that. Equipped with (older?) Sora 2x9 brifter setup. The crank is 4 splined. Cleaned up, I noticed the small 32T chainring was beyond the time to replace. Usally a pretty straight process with my other 3x9s bikes, my tourer and my rigid MTB.

So i went to order a new 32T 64 BDC ring. But I couldīnt find one. Ended up ordering a 2x10 ring with only 28T. A Deore ring. But when it came, it was asymetrical. Bummer...

So, I simply canīt find a 32T 64 BDC Sora chainring. Can you guys help me find one? Preferebly in Eroupe, as the handeling fee from the Danish postal "service" will more than 3x the price on the ring, if importet form a non-EU country.

If a new ring isnt possible, then how will I smartest replace the crankset? I have a square tapered bottom bracket, but I guess I could "upgrade" to an Hollowtech II, if I decide to replace the crankset all togheter. Looked at a cheap crankset:

https://cykelshoppen.dk/kranksaet-pe...ranksaet-3953t

It has a 110 BDC, but I would have to replace the small chainring, as my knees cant handle the hills on a 39T ring, after a bad crash on motorcycle (unawere women took me down).

I dont mind it costing a bit, but would hate to downgrade my setup. I could replace the crankset with a more modern 5-splined Sora crankset, like this one:

Or
https://cykelshoppen.dk/9-speed-kran...4t#description

Or the Sunrace R90 set, if I can find it, as the BB is sqaure taper too.

Can I use a 10s crankset?

Any help appriciated. Thanks.

Hi,
Maybe mechanics but this is a relatively new subform as well, so traffic might not be as high as some of the more established ones. Parts are generally difficult to come by at the moment, though, I'm with you on that one!

if you want to go smaller than Sora on 2x9, you might to look towards Alivio. I had to and they mix and match without issues.
