These days with the failure of customer service in most areas of business, I have decided to tell myself, this is how the world goes... i feel like i'm turning into my grandfather or father, "It wasn't like this in my day"
while it does appear customer service in general has taken a bit of a nose dive these last few years, "The Italian Job" has always been a bit iffy, now the rest of the world seems to aligning, as my Grandmother's saying goes God rest her sole seems appropriate " Well, we will just have to make the best of it",

So, it's clear that nothing has changed. Signing up for Eroica was confusing for many before, and is still confusing.

Last year I finally was able to use my prepaid entry fee from Eroica California pandemic cancellations. I never was able to confirm that I was on the list for the 2022 ride until I showed up to sign in.

I'm definitely in. I'm personally not a fan of the switch to September, as there's a good chance that the state will be on fire then. Even if the fires are far away, there's a good chance that air quality could be bad.

Because my job keeps me very busy after large fires, I'll hold off to actually register until a week or two before the event. But, I'll go ahead and secure lodging at a place with friendly cancellation policies.....

Regardless of the less than perfect event planning, this is still the best annual vintage bike event in the country, and I really want it to be successful. And, you can't beat the scenery, and the opportunity to meet your fellow vintage bike nerd tribe. ..

I'm glad to see enthusiasm for both events. Both really fun in their own way.
And naturally, I have my own preference which B-Bob's heard from me before gugie when we met at iab 's wonderful Coppi Cententario weekend a few years ago.
bibliobob has a standing offer to fly in and borrow a bike from me if he can carve out the time for it.

I received an e-mail back from Eroica asking me to send screen shots of my Eroica page. I was about to do so when I saw this post and decided to try the website on more time. Success! They are calling it the Super-Early Bird rate and it does not require a promo code. Apparently a number of us nagging them gets results. I did send them a nice "thank you" e-mail.

Bottom line: Woo-hoo, I'm going to Cambria (again)!

Bikes??? we have to ride bikes?

Ann will be on her Trek 613, although with all the talk of Klein i am tempted for her to bring hers but its a 1998 with shifters so she may get ticketed..
As for me last time i brought my Peugeot Super Comp, but i have traded it away. so top of the list is a Trek 500 in blue almost finished.

OF course that could change maybe a Raleigh Pro MkV or a GS Compettition who knows!!!

maybe everyone should sound off their bike of choice..

Welp, I was able to get my super-early bird $90 registration for the Santa Lucia route through without a problem; I think I did it the day the email went out. Bummer to hear many folks had problems accessing that.

On my way home from Cambria last spring, I picked up this '79ish Centurion Pro Tour --I'll probably bring it for this year's ride; it now has a Shimano FC-6206 triple to go with the M700 Deerhead FD/RD, and I'll probably build up some new wheels for it, but it should be more-or-less in this condition:

We'll see come September, though--my Romic frameset should be back from the shop in a couple weeks, and I have an older neighbor with a barely-used '78 Centurion Semi-Pro that's been hanging in his garage for 40 years. Hopefully one of these days I'll convince him to give it a new lease on life; I'd love to fix up & get that bike back on the road.

I also took advantage of the senior early bird special. Signed up for Nova on Saturday and signed the wife up for the Light House ride on Sunday. We'll be on our Tandem bike for the Light House party ride. Wifey is into taking photos of the festivity.

Jeff, I think if you look at this through a pinhole in a $20 bill this comes out as vintage.

Thanks for the heads up everyone about the Super Early Bird coming online and working. I was able to log in on MyEroica, see the Super Early Bird offer, click through and confirmed paid for the 73 mile Santa Lucia route as I’ve done the last two rides. It did not yet register on my registrations page but that might take a bit of time. Still deciding if I will sign up for Eroica Cena meal or not.

My brother-in-law Ben from Portland may not be able to come next year due to a trip conflict. As such, I’m also weighing whether to ride or strictly volunteer at the 2023 event since manpower and additional planning help may be useful. One way to help make the event work well is to get involved in any way that can help.

I did get an email back from Amadeo so will be taking to him soon. Hopefully steps in the right direction.

I just went to the registration page to sign up and the super early bird discount rate has disappeared.
But, lucky me, starting November 7 I can pay $40 more!
I guess it's November 7th in Italy.

Yeah, me too. I checked almost every day and the Super Early Bird was never there and now I only have the „normal“ registrations.

That's a bummer, I suspect obrentharris is correct about the time zone. They should use PST time for the registration.

Ha, just located me some Cinelli M-71 pedal / cleats. Came out in 1971.
