Remembering Larry Schwartz

Hello to you all!

I hope it is OK to post this here...

I'm Larry Schwartz's nephew. He was an accomplished cyclist who died in May 2003, after getting hit by a school bus mirror. His death was the inspiration for the Ride of Silence, an annual silent ride in honor of cyclists injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.

I have been reflecting that my uncle died nearly 20 years ago. I was eight years old at the time and feel like I barely knew him. I've been reading some stories posted online, and I was curious if anyone here knew him, and would have any stories to share with me. It would mean a lot.

I've also seen many people talking about his travel journals/emails, and miles logged on big-dogs.org and bikeprolog.com, but I can't find any of these on the Internet. If anyone out there has these archived anywhere, or knows someone who might, it would mean so much to me to read his words.

If anyone out there knew Larry and would like to speak more, feel free to message me. While I wish I had more time to know him, all that he accomplished in his short life inspires me everyday.

Thanks for reading,
Zach
