Sorry, I know he's not on a bicycle and I'm not sure if this one's been posted before... But here's one of Robin Williams during a visit to the Alex Singer shop in Paris- one of several uploaded to Getty Images at some point in the past. The credits are on the photo and it's being used for educational purposes.

Thanks for the correction.

For whatever it's worth, Al sr.was my hero when I was a kid. And the Johnny Lightning Special was THE coolest racecar of all time.

Can anyone forget the 1971 pilot for MacMillan & Wife, featuring Rock Hudson chasing the bad guy (and then being chased by the bad guy) through the streets of San Francisco? Can anyone remember? Bike action starts around 1:08. And enjoy the music.

Now that was awesome! I will guess both are Centurions. Like Bullitt on a budget.

And the music was indeed a terrible selection.

If the bad guy had a gun that whole time, why was he running/riding away? And how did he suddenly decide it was time to start chasing?🤨 🤔😁
EDIT: Forgot to say, I was 9 when that aired, and wasn't allowed to stay up that late, so I couldn't have forgotten OR remembered it. 😋😁😉

What are you, a detective or something?

I was 19, my girlfriend at the time and I had been on our first campus 10-speeds for a year, and we laughed our heads off watching this. And after we broke up I had a crush for Susan St. James. We all did.

I believe they were Raleigh Grand Prix. This was 1971 when a Peugeot or Raleigh made you the envy of your dormitory.

And in my opinion (and the producers'), the music played a big part of making it work. Our ears worked differently back then.

No, and I never played one on TV, either. 😁😉

But it really bothers me, that the bad guy chose to go over the wall like that. He should've laid that bike down, and taken his chances with running into it (the wall).

And where are their helmets? 😁😉

Repeat after me. It's not real.

As for helmets, see the Eli Wallach photo: "Helmets? We don't need no steenkin' helmets."

Long live the King. I can't believe they put him on a 21" Pashley 3 speed. Pathetic and an inauspicious start to his reign.

He's looking quite dapper.....and it's great to see him riding without toe-clips, but he does need some help with the frames fitment.
Best, Ben
