Stromer ST1 Ebike chain keeps popping off
Hello,
I originally had a 52T chainring (130 bcd) on my Stromer, which I upgraded to a 54T (SRAM x-sync) to help with 2 separate issues
(a) the chain kept popping off with a 52T chain-ring and
(b) I routinely found myself spinning out
The LBS suggested upgrading to a 54T chain-ring to fix both issues and it certainly helped, but it can be better.
The primary issue I am still facing is the chain popping out, especially when I am riding over a bump at speed. I am less bothered by the spin out, but do feel I could use some room there.
Is a 56T chain-ring a realistic option here, is it the chain itself that is the problem?
Thanks!

If it is a matter of the chain being loose, why not just shorten it?

More details about your setup are needed. You talk about your chainring. Do you only have one? If so, do you have a derailleur or chain guide to keep the chain in place? Unless your chainring is designed for a single chainring setup you will run the risk of front chain derailment without a chain guide

Spinning out? Please. What kind of speeds are we talking about? I seriously doubt you were really doing that.

pedal assist ebike with 38 mph..... 52 cransk and 11-42 standard, so if assisted and going 38, maybe close to spinning out?
seems like bad design some place if dropping chain
