I dont see why you couldn’t do that. I’d just search gravel tires in the size the bike has and go from there.

thx. I thoughts so. Seems like it could be a solid gravel bike as well.

Added a Ritchey carbon bar....600mm Flat....can't tell a weight difference but does seem to absorb shocks better than stock bar...

Posting on here to document my experience and maybe help someone on the internet searching for the same keywords.
This is going off my memory as I never kept a build journal so some details may be fuzzy.

Frame is a 2017 AC01 with Alfine 11 speed. Bike is commuter/city bike when running errands.

Replaced the stock wheels with Mavic Ksyrium wheels set up for tubeless. Rear was custom laced of course. Front is off the shelf. I think this was my favorite mod of the bike. It dropped ~1 pound compared to old wheels and the hub spins so much free'er. I remember my first ride on them and it felt like the wheels wanted to keep rolling down the street compared to the stock wheels.
Current tires are Rene Herse Bon Jon's (35mm) I can't fit any bigger on here. These tires are great. It feels like im riding on a giant soft couch. My other bikes are steel road bikes with 25mm tube'd and tubeless, alu and carbon wheels and my undercarriage misses the plush feel of these.
I had a set of fenders and like everyone else, removed them because they were flimsy and they cannot fit over the 35mm tires now.
Rack is a Axiom Disc DLX rack. Its nice because it has rear dropout feet that hold the panniers away from the pedal stroke and we know this frame lacks rack mounts
Mounted the Garmin Varia to the rack because when the Varia is on the seat post, sometimes the radar is blocked by whatever is on my rack.

The bad:
My eccentric bottom bracket works itself loose occasionally. In my most recent time of tightening the BB, the set screws are starting to round out and I'm looking for either replacement screws or a more reliable/best EBB and thats how I came across this thread.

EDIT: It seems I cant upload or link pictures on my newbie account yet. Oh well

My 2017 BMC Alpenchallenge AC01

I made a thread on it here for the upgrades I did to it. Sadly all the photos are no longer showing in that thread but you can still see what I did to it...
