I lived, and toured near Eagle Point many times. This is typical of how locals feel about cyclists in this region and many other parts of the USA.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2...cattle-rancher

Hopefully I made the link correctly.

Actually, the rancher was pro cyclist. Your letting your bias get in the way of your reading.

I didn't read that as suggesting there was hostility. Given the title, I thought the OP was suggesting locals are friendly toward cyclists.

I got impression from the title of the thread. That the OP titled it that with an air of sarcasm.

The great difficulty in digital communication is that we can't hear the intonation. I may indeed have taken that in a way other than intended.

Keep in mind, that was just my impression. The OP may have been genuine with the title. But you are right about not being able to hear the intonation in digital communications. Even if someone was blind and had voice box that translates text on a computer. Even they wouldn't be able to tell. Because, Punctuation probably wouldn't be noted by the box.

I am pretty sure that the title was meant as an offset, soft counter to the https://www.bikeforums.net/advocacy-s...-hates-us.html thread.
