Which disc brake pads stop best?
For "regular" brake pads I only buy Kool Stop salmon brake pads for stopping power.
For disc brake pads, do some brands stop faster than others? Which would these be?
I have a Shimano brake caliper on a Marin bike.

i like Avid. organic don't squeak as much, so they are quieter, but they wear down quicker.

Metallic pads just like pads for a car. I don't like metallic pads for a car because they wear down the rotors faster, probably the same for bike and at $30-$50 for a rotor, a thin piece of metal, that's outrageous. I think $20 for a bike's brake pads are expensive.

I put metallic pads on my XTR dual controls and boy did they suck!!!!!!!
They squealed even when dry, they didn't stop well even with a death grip.
I thought something might be wrong with the brakes themselves.
I replaced them with XTR resin M07 pads and what a difference!!
Quiet and powerful, sure they might not last as long as metallic but why
have terrible brakes that last forever.
