Carlton Raleigh gran course

Hey yall. I'm back after years hiatus from this forum.. years ago I was on here all of the time seeking advice and knowledge on bikes I had procured various ways or was flipping or trading. Excited to be back with a few interesting Bicycles, frame identification questions, and plenty of other questions!
I can't post photos yet.. but I will start this thread as a teaser after finding a handmade 80s Carlton Raleigh with suntour superbe and superbe pro components.. with an 80 dollar price tag at the thrift store which I gladly paid. Having done some digging to find out a member here on the c and v forum most likely imported these frames and sold them in Iowa? Anyone else have one of these bikes please share! Or any more info on them would be appreciated. Mine is too small for me so will most likely be selling it, but in the mean time I need to get back in the swing of things here and build rapport to be allowed to post a dang photo haha.
thanks!

Here’s mine:

I got it as a frame and fork from @Charles_Wahl, who bought it new in 1985 from Michael’s Cyclery in Ames, Iowa.

Same paint. A pretty unique fade. Almost like a drop shadow or light effect. I don't know what I need to do to be able to post photos? Post more?

Land of the Giants. Would have likely done the same - swapped the bar-cons off into my stash and passed those monsters on.

What year is the Super Course? There was only gold and red in 1978 when I ordered mine.

I am unsure if your bike is a Carlton Raleigh or a Raleigh built by Carlton. The only real Carlton Raleigh that has ever come my way was an actual late sixties or early seventies Carlton rebadged by Raleigh when the Raleigh company bought the Carlton company out. Though nothing special in the quality or high end department, I cannot help but feel a certain fondness for this old and unusual bicycle...
