Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I recently noticed the Trifox bike forum.

Is Trifox now the official bike of BikeForums?

Got on the bike today. I felt fresh and knee wasn’t feeling off. I was maintaining about 20 mph without much effort. I got passed by a small group going 25 so decided to stay with them. Hung on for about 8 mins and then my knee started to burn so I fell off.

Now i’m wondering if it was the icy hot that I was feeling.

I wanted to ride outside but was concerned it would start hurting when I was far away and have to ride all the way back.
IME little nagging injuries are typically worse on the trainer and hardly noticeable outside

I ordered a 24" TV for zwifting. Since Lappy is going to be put out to pasture. Should be here on Wednesday. I also purchased a wall mount that I am going to adapt to my old bike mechanic stand. I should be able to move the fan in front of the stand, better airflow!
I can't wait to start wading through the set up process! (Yep, sarcasm)

Send us pics after you have it. I have an approx 20 inch monitor that I use which is fine for my needs.

That said, I am going to postpone my Zwifting as long as possible. I expect sometime in December or January we will have snow/ice and I will have to surrender to the Borg.

my in-laws are bringing a couple of older TVs Wednesday for this purpose. Right now i watch movies on an iPad and have an old laptop which barely runs Zwift.

The price on this has really come down.

Too bad it's a limited test.

I have one Rapha jersey that I really like, and will likely do more.

What really cracks me up is that Rueben wears a small and measures 6'. He must be one skinny ass dude as I'm 6', not overweight, and wear an XL in that brand.

Wow! A small? I am 6' 2" and "big boned." I bought a XXL late summer. It's a tad big on me, but a XL might be too small.

Oooh. I can get a Rapha Core jersey in an XL for only $60 from REI. Would have to pull the trigger today. Available colors are black and pink.

Is that the light-skinned guy? If so, yeah, he's odd. He doesn't look like a 6-footer, and he doesn't look that skinny... If he's 6', he looks like he'd be 175lbs+, based on proportions, and I don't think that's Small territory.

Some of their stuff is really stretchy, though, and there's also the how-clingy-are-you-comfortable-with? factor. I'm just under 6'. When I was in the low 190s, their Classic Fit stuff (Core, Classic, Brevet, IIRC) was form-fitting but not tight on me in a Large. At my current weight, it's a little too flappy for me, at speed; I might avail myself to their Size-Down program on a couple of Core jerseys. The Pro Team stuff is really stretchy - Mediums fit me if you're of the "if it zips, it fits" philosophy, but I'm a little more comfortable (read: less self-conscious) in a Large.

Size down is only good for like 6 months IIRC. I still wear a bunch of large because of that.

The neopro jerseys are great in hot weather.

I don't know if I mentioned it here or if it was in another Deals thread, but Rapha currently has a Core Lightweight 2-jersey bundle for $120. I haven't laid hands on the Lightweight version, but it's supposed to be more breathable than the regular Core, though they also omit the zipped valuables pocket.

But yeah, I've been debating using that 20% off at REI on some Rapha bibs... I think that I'm going to pass, for now. They usually dole out those 20% coupons in March, too, right? I mean, it's not like I'm going to need more bibs shorts before then.

Hmmmm... it says "this year." If that's the case, I won't be able to take advantage on my Core jerseys, but I've got two Pro Team Training jerseys that I might be able to downsize in the spring.

I think you’re right then.

I have a lightweight Core, I like it, just wish it had the zippered valuables pocket

I'm not in the "buff with women knocking down the doors to get to me" shape, so feel a bit more comfortable with things form fitting but not skin tight (but not flapping). On the other hand, I think I'm in a lot better shape that a lot of other guys my age that I see wearing skin tight kit. Just a slight mid-area protrusion.

When you have my rugged good looks it’s free…

Six feet in a small would need to weigh like 140 for Rapha
