Two things--first, we can't read your mind so we don't know why you didn't pick it up from context, and second, the info might be helpful to someone who didn't know what a diamond frame is. I know that when I answer a question in a public forum, I might be addressing the answer to other people who have the same question, possibly for different reasons.
It just struck me as a bit impolite and kind of strange of you to admonish TheDudeIsHere for being a bit too helpful.

My last try at the etiquette lesson, then. "Thanks, but..." definitely implies very strongly that someone didn't get it right. "But" is a word of qualification, not just clarification. Plus, he posted a pretty picture.

That's a really weird assertion. I ride DF exclusively, and it's just a convenient and very old fairly accurate descriptive term that differentiates them from other types of frames. How could it be considered a slur?
Now let's debate whether OP's use of the term "racer boys" is racerist.

Kind of like "Thanks, but I already ate" or "Thanks, but I'll be out of town next week" ?

live and tomato please get a room. Quit ruining a fine thread. This thread is for pointing out why trikes are better than DF racing bikes, or for having fun.

Not to pile on, but it's not. It's a descriptive term. "Ass hatchet", now there's a pejorative.*
The other term I use more often outside of recumbent forums is "upright bike" because most people understand that one immediately. "Upright" is close to the perfect antonym of "recumbent" anyway.
* for the record, I find labels like that personally offensive (a little bit, at least) because I spend approximately half of my time on 'bents, and the other half on ass hat... er, I mean...upright bikes!

There's a graphic that gets posted in C&V sometimes with the many, many kinds of upright frame that are not diamonds. And this figure doesn't even show loop (cruiser) frames.

Good point! but, remember that rydabent is all about enjoying the ride... you know, a stop and smell the roses without having to put your foot down kinda guy. So unless he asks for "modern design" (Cecil's words) streamlining advice, this turtle won't pester him with it. But if he did ask, I'd still need a pic of his recreational trike!

Speaking of pics, I think more pics of how people actually use their trikes could be interesting.
