Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Have to see a cardiologist and prolly get a halter monitor for a month. Not sure if I can ride as normal. Will ask.

Actually haven’t felt quite like this since the 90s. I feel like racing. Wish I could still run.
Nice, and that 60sec record was only a day old . Yeah, I can see why you'd want to have done the TT this week.

With my v-tach, I could keep riding too, didn't even notice anything at first. Occasionally it would sap all my strength for the rest of the ride, but I was in denial. The stress test after my accident is what found it, and they stopped the test in a big hurry too.
Yeah, VT is no joke. Riding through it is pretty badass!

Speaking of hearts, until this morning I had completely forgotten that last month--August 16th, to be exact--was the 30th anniversary of my heart valve replacement.

Medicines and/or an ablation. If person is at risk for recurrence they also get an AICD (internal defibrillator).

Speaking of 30 years, this weekend is the 30th anniversary of us moving out of the city up to the peace and quiet of suburbia.

Kudos. But no super kudos because they are not cycling shoes.

I wore the halter monitor on my trainer, it's the size of a cellphone, threw it in the jersey pocket, but the wires are bit annoying. My heart rate monitor and the halter irregularities matched in timing. My cardiologist and I found metoprolol and reduced training load has it well controlled now. I will never sniff the leader board again, but I'm okay with that, I have more important things.
