Most guys just strap a PVC tube to their rack. I don't know that I would want one mounted horizontally.

That sounds like a potential damaged rod story in the making, have used my rack that clamps solidly to the stays for years w/o issue. I only have to worry about vertical clearance which I would thing much easier.

the "dipnet" that I want to mount on the bike would require a very large hunk of PVC, but thanks for the idea.

If one can’t spell and spellcheck is no help, the shotgun approach (like on high school essays) sometimes works.

I can spell just fine. I just can't type well and fast when I've taken my Ambien. also, I have a messed up little finger that ruins my "anchoring' when typing with that hand. I'd tell you where you can jam your baloney, but this is a nice forum, so I wont.

Most people I see riding with fishing poles mount them upright behind the seat. The issue with putting them across the handlebars is that it can get caught on things and people next to the bike.

interesting. If I ever make it to Alaska, I'll try it. I'm in OK, so mudding for catfish is far more my line of work.

Do you catch and release or keep them? If you want to transport the fish home, a small trailer that could carry net and fish might work pretty well.

I've never been mudding for fish. I"ve got a new stepdaughter who wants to try everything. She just got here a week ago from the Philippines. So we'll get around to fishing eventually. Right now, she's learning to drive and use the BB gun.
