Neither is convincing.

Do share, real cyclists are at the road cycling forum anyway 😁

Or you could coat your legs with silly putty.

The best reason I've heard is what your legs feel like after a shave and you get in bed with your SO.

My SO never liked it. Now, in my senium, my legs have gone bald, so I look fast again and there’s no “sharkskin effect” to bother spouse on those rare occasions.

One of my cycling clubs has the motto: "Where hill is not a dirty word and only the men shave their legs." My legs are also almost hairless, for which I'm thankful, but also much of my head, oh well.

Not sarcasm…. Insinuation!
Maybe a little too subtle.

Pedantic and wrong, mazel tov! You "hoped" the rest of my day went better, implying I was somehow an unhappy person.
An insincere expression of good wishes with a negative insinuation is sarcasm by definition. Do you have overly nice friends who pretend you're clever or did you develop this delusion on your own?

BTW, the "mazel tov" above is sarcastic. See how that works?

Although this is fun, let’s have one last go each, shake hands and move on.

Your assumption regarding my insincerity is incorrect.
Likely brought about by how you choose to approach people.

Why do cyclists shave their legs?

Because they are there.

Because they can.

Uh, so now you were sincerely posting good wishes for me, but insinuating an insult at the same time? If you think that's even possible, you're the one who doesn't know how to approach people. You were being snarky by your own admission, and you open yourself to criticism when your snark is really dumb. Sorry you can dish the snark out but can't take it.

You're a guy who when he gets caught out being wrong, can't admit it and just starts accusing everyone else of being wrong about whatever the hell it is he thinks of.

Sorry. I have been posting here forever, but didn't know that wasn't acceptable. I figured it illustrated why shaving was a good idea. I'll avoid the gore in the future.

would shaving my legs (which i haven’t done since competitively swimming decades ago!) make the horrible, horrible cycling tan lines look better or worse? If the former…. It might be worth it!

Always interesting when the topic arrives for the 100th time.

Things to ponder:

-why do wrestlers and male gymnasts shave?
-track runners?
-cyclists?
-swimmers?

Generally it seems “athletics plus legs” gravitates towards shaving them.

If not taken care of, legs or arms or privates…..I am a Chewbacca. It gets hot. Mud, dirt, sawdust, drywall dust, makes for more cleanup and hotter nastier with full Chewy going on. I won’t shave the arms but will trim with an electric as it gets long and hot.

I used to let go between races, but have appreciated the cooler sleeping without Chewy hair.

Is a sharp and contrasty line better or worse in your mind?
