Same place, different bike

Last month, I was on vacation in Monterey. On one of my rides, I stopped and took a photo of my De Rosa by the beach.
Untitled by gaucho777, on Flickr

I had sort of a deja vu moment, realizing that I'd been to that same spot before, in 2015, and took a very similar photo of my Cilo at the same spot near the beach.

This got me thinking about some of my oft-repeated local rides, and the fact that I sometimes take a photo from the same viewpoint with different bikes. For instance, a Speedwell and the De Rosa again from Inspiration Point in Berkeley/Tilden Park.:

Bikes at work:

So, what have you got? Post your photos of different bikes at the same spot.

It also occurs to me that many of us have taken photos from the same spot as other forum members. Bonus points if you can tag and show your bike in the same spot as another member's bike. Here is @curbtender 's Waterford and my Parkpre overlooking the bay:

I’ll collect my bonus points now, thank you...

This Univega Gran Premio frame is long gone, but the components live on as a different bike.

I'll play, though I note the same place in this case is a quiet small town in South Carolina that can either be the terminus of an out-and-back or a starting point for lots of great back roads rides. It's a few hundred yards away from the site of the legendary Jackson Station, South Carolina's premier blues and new wave music joint in the '80s, where I learned everything I ever knew about how to be a Keith Richards clone. Apart from that, I think it's only other historical significance was as the site of a Reconstruction-era assassination on a train platform. That said, in the last 20 years there have been successive waves of renovation and improvements, and it's a lovely place to stop and sit on a park bench for a moment to catch your breath.

First, here's my initial foray into the world of Clunker Challenges, a 1975 Motobecane Grand Touring from the last year of generic tubing for that model -

- then there was this year's Clunker Challenge bike, the '73 Raleigh Gran Sport I got from Schreck83 - we will note that in the intervening years, scenic downtown Hodges SC has been revitalized -

- And there's also this one from last year, when I realized that even though I rode this '76 Puch Royal X all over Greenwood County in the early 80s the first time I owned, it, I had never ridden Dragonfly out to Hodges, so I remedied that lapse here -

- and almost two weeks ago I put the '73 Raleigh Competition's Dingle-Drive setup through its paces on a multi-surface ride - but that followed a quick stop in Hodges for pix -

- Last week I returned my much loved 2002 Mercian Vincitore to its original configuration with 28s and fenders and dual fixed cogs. To celebrate, I took it out for a long ramble Sunday, which involved stopping for a moment in the usual space -

- which was a reprise of this earlier shot -

- but the bike that has been to Hodges the most the last five years or so remains the Prince of Patina himself, Maitres Jacques the '71 Gitane TdF converted to fixed-gear. This pic is from before the Hodges renovation and before I swapped out the Weinmann 500s for a lovely set of Weinmann Carreras -

A beautiful scenic spot overlooking the north end of Puget Sound on Chuckanut Drive. Here with the Marinoni:

The Rivendell Rambouillet that has moved on, same overlook, a different rock :

The many times I stopped for photos there during my Klein decade were apparently all pre-digital, so you’ll just have to trust that they happened.

I guess this last one is shot about 25 ft to the left of the others, but still basically the same place.

How about the same bike in three different iterations at the same place. Does that count? All of these were taken at Tilden Park's Inspiration Point in the Berkeley Hills. The bike is a 1982ish Ron Cooper.

As it was when I bought the frame and before I had it painted, with Campy 10sp triple

After having Ed Litton paint it, still with Campy 10sp triple.

As it is now, Eroica-compliant. I ride this in the 2019 Eroica California.

And just for giggles (and to stay within the letter of the law), here are two completely different bikes, also at Inspiration Point.

1965ish Cinelli (the Eroica & Cino compliant one)

And a 1978 Eisentraut, as currently set up as my wet-road bike. I had Ed Litton repaint this one, too.
