BTW, Oddly I also have a Shimano Deore XT that has a similar "continuous band" clamp (but is 31.X) and never really compared them until now. The bands look very similar but the anchor hardware is different and does not look like any of it could swap...no surprise I guess.

I have a Shimano one as well, but not sure what from...it is slightly different but I wonder what it came from...probably a Deore DX or something.

Unworthy, and Jdawg,
I am hoping someone might have just the band. I don't want to tear apart a good FD for just a clamp. I think both models use the same band, so I will wait to see if just the band pops up. I sifted through two boxes of parts at the co-op with no good results. I'm leaning toward giving my Trek 830 mt .bike to the co-op. It weighs a ton and would cost over $100 to ship to a forum member, so the co-op wins the battle. Smiles, MH

Keep your eyes open for a rogue clamp-on Suntour Symmetric shifter. Same clamp.

Not too concerned about clamp diameter, 25.4, 26, 26.4 are all fine with me.
22.2 insertion.

I have other stems and parts available for trade, or will buy outright.

I might have a black one. I'll check when I get home.

I agree with that approach, too. You just end up with "more parts" when you do that!
I will look for a stand-alone clamp from shifters, too, but that's another long shot.

@hazetguy and @Mad Honk

Jdawg has failed miserably. I have a pretty organized stash, and I cannot find either of the items. Must have given them away/used them/lost them in the hidden trove of lost parts.

Sorry.

Well Jdawg,
Don't be too hard on yerself as I knew I was asking for unobtainium. I have been working on the Pinarello pantograph and forgot how tough it is to get the paint fill into the crevices without going over the panto's a few times each. Tonight was the last go round with the tulips on the brake bridges. Greg's decals are next and then the clear coat. I have exhausted my supply of lacquer clear coat and I'm going to start using PPG as I have a supplier for those auto coatings. It is going to be a good experiment to find one that gives the luster without any decal damage. The black over silver champagne appears to be a good choice as I like the look of the older Cinelli frames. Smiles, MH

Looking for Schwinn parts. Ashtabula crank without the chainring or BB bits in 165/170 length. Some shine to it would be good. Next would be some black Schwinn Approved grips either standard or bubble top ones would be fine.

Thanks for consideration and as always, what do you need?

ISO alloy seat post for Dawes Galaxy

Looking for a 26.2mm seat post to replace the chrome steel one on my 72 Dawes Galaxy. Can anything from an English bike of the same era be fitted?

If you can find an era specific seat post smaller than 26.2 that is allow, you could use a shim, I guess.

ISO seatposts seems to be a thing so….

- 26.4
- 26.6
200mm-ish should do the trick.

Don’t need to be fancy/mint. Not TOO badly scraped up is entirely acceptable.

ISO Sora 3300 left side double STI shifter/Lever

Hi folks,

I need a Sora 3300 left, double STI shifter. It’s the style with the little lever on the side, not the one with the big lever under the brake lever. See picture. For trade I have a Claris 2400 right 8 speed STI shifter, or a 105 left double that’s a bit scruffy, or a Sora 7 speed right STI shifter. Also have a bunch of other vintage parts.

Thanks and regards,

Van

Any particular flavor you prefer? I have several possibilities in 26.4 I can check on...likely SR versions.

Can you chaeck your stock for 26.4mm for me as well? I'm told that is about the range for a Dawes fitting. Although the steel post on my bike measured 26.2, I can always polish something down to fir if I had to
