What kind of brake pad inserts ?
What kind of Shimano brake pad inserts do I need ?
Assuming that there are replaceable inserts rather than the entire pad holder assembly, what type of pads do I need to rebuild these ?

Rebuild? You're just replacing pads. Those are V-brake pad holders so any V-brake pad that works with your rims, meaning you don't want to buy the ceramic pads if you don't have ceramic rims. Kool Stop makes great pads too.

Plenty of choices, mostly fungible, though some are for specific uses, ie. with ceramic coated rims. Keep in mind that there are 2 main choices: inserts which slide into your holders, or complete shoes, where the entire shoe is replaced as a single part.
Search "V-brake pads" or if you're somewhat trusting about computer security use my link.

I have plenty of entire shoes to replace these units and was just curious about which inserts fit these specific holders...
The rims are normal Mavic Deore A319 alloy so I can stick anything on.

Did you not read the 2 posts replying to yours? No, you can't just 'stick anything on'. You need pads for aluminum rims. NOT ceramic. NOT carbon.

No, no,,, Not what I meant at all.
I meant that I can forget about looking for any insert and simply forget about what is on the bike now and stick on any of the rubber brake pads that will fit.
I have a box of good spares that all came off bikes with aluminum wheels until I get around to picking up some new ones..
